  1. Thad, I have exactly the same file info as you. Ooops. I haven't ran it yet. Let me run it and I'll post my results. lynnz
  2. Thad, Ok. When I click color codes off, the rapids show up yellow, but my blue toolpath turns to a maroon color. lynnz
  3. Thad, I get rapids showing up as blue also when moving between ops. Thats what got me looking into it and I found at the bottom of the backplot screen that shows details of each move, when you have details of a rapid, it has a feedrate of -2?? What icon are you talking about? In the config settings of color or in the backplot screen?? lynnz
  4. I noticed this after upgrading to MR1. After backplotting, click on a rapid line. In details, there is a box that shows feedrate. For a rapid move it shows a feed of -2. I checked this on 2 different PC's. I have 1 other seat that wasn't upgraded yet (SP1) that I checked and it also had a feedrate of -2. Of course, in checking the gcode and running the program, all is well. Anyone else notice this?? lynnz
  5. I agree with Trevor. We use 450 and 460 boards. The 5020 is the low density stuff which is slightly porous kind of like foam. You might contact Freemans and request a small sample of the various types of boards. lynnz
  6. You could also get Ren-shape materials from the Freeman supply link in BOBP's post above. Good luck lynnz
  7. Thanks to all for info. I did a search briefly, but didn't search for correct phrases. Thad, that sounds like a good idea. I'll probably do that. lynnz
  8. We just got a new PC to put 1 one our seats of X on. Pretty much the tool library and post processor were doing what we wanted on the old machine. My question is what files within the program do I need to backup? Just wanting to make sure I get everything I need backed up. I'm not sure about everything with machine def files and control def files and such. Thanks, lynnz
  9. I have a Dell workstation with XP Pro 64 also. X runs just fine on it. Like hessigc said, I had problems getting update 3 to load because of 1628 error message. It handled all of the other updates though. no V9 has been tried on this machine either. HPM, try going to Aladdin.com and get the latest 64bit hasp driver. This should fix your problem. lynnz
  10. lou, Go to Aladdin and download Hasp4 driver setup. Unzip it and run hdd32.exe. This worked for me after I lost my hasp when installing the latest patch that updated the SP1 X. Before that I had used HL Hasp driver to initially get the X running and it continued to work after I updated to SP1. But the HL driver appeared to quit on me when I installed the patch to SP1. That is when I tried Hasp4. lynnz
  11. g huns, Sometimes when I have trouble with FZT toolpaths erroring out, I turn it off by running the toolpath config c-hook. (TPcfg.dll) Then uncheck FZT. Then I can get it to run with no problems. This worked in V9 and X as well. lynnz
  12. Thad, When I had the hasp not found problem after patch installation, that was the first thing I tried. Didn't work. lynnz
  13. The address I was looking for when my hasp didn't work after installing the patch is http://www.mastercam.com/Support/Downloads...s/drivers_x.zip It shows up when the Update manager is installing the update, but when install is complete you have no way of finding it. What I did to find it was to write it down when I installed the patch to another seat we have here. Just in case someone else needs it. lynnz
  14. I lost my hasp after installing the patch like George did. In the update manager when downloading patch, there was an address to go to to fix this. But now I can't get back to the Update Manager to get the address. Does anyone know this address?? lynnz
  15. The x64 system I have runs X just fine. If you have a need to have V9 on the same machine, you will be out of luck. But X only is OK, with my experience. Running Mill level 3 X. (almost all programming is mold work) lynnz
  16. ShawnV, In the past, Hurco didn't support sub programs. I'm not sure if the newer Hurcos do or not. I'm sure the Ultimax 3 controls or earlier don't. lynnz
  17. Your toolpaths will be lost, but you can regenerate them quickly and send them back out to the machines. All your operations will still be there pretty much as they were setup originally. Maybe it won't be nearly as bad as you are thinking. lynnz
  18. Mitchell, I was going to try and load it, but somewhere on this board last week Dave or Bullines made a comment about how it was best to load V9 before loading X. And I think this was on a 32bit system. So I decided not to dump X, then put V9 on and then reload X. Trying to with X and not look back. lynnz
  19. Has anyone tried installing MC X direct for SW on a XP x64 system? When I tried to run setup.exe, the Windows installer fires up and then gives me a message: MasterCam X Direct for Solidworks requires you to be running Windows 2000 or Windows XP. Then the installer shuts down. lynnz
  20. I haven't, but I may try to load it later this week if I have the time. I'll let you know what I find out. Seems like it should run OK. We are running 9 on the other machine here currently til we get totally up on X. lynnz
  21. Got our hasp this week and X runs just fine on x64 operating system. lynnz
  22. I've got about an identical machine to that, but I had trouble with the hasp when I tried to get it up and going. Come to find out I had a hasp3. So I'm patiently waiting on UPS to deliver me a new Hasp4. I had checked the hasp at my home shop 6 months ago and it was a white hasp4. So I wrongly assumed my work hasp was hasp4 because it too was white and never checked it. My x64 system runs SolidWorks just great. I also run foundry casting pouring simulation software called SolidCast. No troubles at all. When I get my hasp I'll post how Mastercam runs. Currently we are doing all programming on another machine in MC 9. lynnz
  23. Got my X yesterday. codes the day before. Will load it shortly. lynnz
  24. If you translate files into Mastercam from other cad systems, keeping up with the latest translators is worth the price of upgrading. Without knowing all the details of your situation, it's hard to tell you which way is the better for you. But you may be surprised how X could help out with your speed and ease of programming. lynnz
  25. Got my codes yesterday afternoon. Still waiting on the package from UPS...... No X in my part of Kansas yet. lynnz
