  1. We have a couple of workstations on order from Dell. They are telling us delivery will be first part of July. They've been ordered 2 weeks now. Thats unusual for Dell, but I assumed it had to do with the 64 bit system. lynnz
  2. Congrats to InHouse for this forum. And I can't believe that it took me 4-1/2 to 5 months to find it. Thanks for the reminder on anniversary. Thats what the wife was talking about yesterday. Today is our wedding anniversary. Ooops. lynnz
  3. Jay, hope you got a paypal addition from me. ftp has been a real lifesaver certain days for me. Thanks lynnz
  4. Peter, My allocation is set at 128000K for database 256000K for toolpath I have 1 gig of memory. I have upped the memory when I get the 'toolpath allocation too low' message and still get the same results. I tried several different settings when I upped it. Can you make a recommendation on exactly what to set it to so it will run? Funny thing is when fzt is switched off, I can complete the toolpath without a hitch and get that machine running. I have gotten this problem maybe 3 or 4 times since fzt came out so its not like it is an everyday occurance. We do run with fzt on and use surface finish contour almost daily. We machine foundry tooling. lynnz
  5. ssaults, I've had that message before on certain jobs. Workaround for me is to run TPCFG chook and switch fzt off. Then contour finish runs without a problem. When I'm done, I run chook again and switch it back on. Kind of a pain, but gets the job done. All is good here with the MR0105 update. lynnz
  6. Methinks we need X to come out and the forum will have new topics to focus on. To all, Happy New Year. lynnz

  8. Ron, I put a file with 2 flowline surfaces programmed on the ftp. It's called powercat solid-lz.mc9 You will have to create several ops like this to get them all done. lynnz
  9. Ron, If you are trying to round the upper corners of the part, I would use flowline to do this. It appeared you were using surface finish contour. You may have to pick out each area separately(fillet), but this method will get you there. lynnz
  10. plastech, Here is a fix from a while back for Hurco post. "If you are using the Mphur.pst, search for the note on 'swg18'. The hurco and boss controls reverse the G18 plane definition from what the rest of the industry uses. Set 'swg18' to 1 from 0." Hope this helps you. lynnz
  11. THREEPT2, I'll be sending you a parasolid file from SolidWorks. It should come in in multi-color. lynnz
  12. David, I have experienced low toolpath allocation recently with pocket rough toolpath. I ran TPCFG chook and unchecked "Constant Z ops:use FastZcut Technology." This let me program without a hitch. Here is an excerpt from the help in that Chook: FZT is enabled by default. However, it may be more efficient to disable FZT in the following situations: ¨ When a typical part size is small relative to the cut tolerance and Z stepdown ¨ When you run multiple sessions of Mastercam ¨ When you need to set the toolpath memory allocation less than 50MB To disable FZT, deselect the checkbox on the Toolpath configuration chook dialog box. Memory allocation requirement FZT requires a significant amount of memory. FZT uses the toolpath memory allocation set in the System Configuration dialog box. (Choose Main Menu, Screen, Configure, Allocations). The toolpath allocation must be at least 50,000KB (50MB), but you may wish to increase it. The upper limit is ½ of the computer’s physical memory. For example, if you have 256MB of physical memory, set the toolpath allocation to 125,000KB (125MB). Maybe this will help. After programming the trouble toolpath, I go back and enable FZT. running 9.1 MR0904 Level 3 lynnz
  13. Here is a fix mentioned 3 yrs ago for Hurco posts. It stopped the 'wild arcs" problem for us. "If you are using the Mphur.pst, search for the note on 'swg18'. The hurco and boss controls reverse the G18 plane definition from what the rest of the industry uses. Set 'swg18' to 1 from 0." Good luck. lynnz
  14. got 25 for what thats worth.......... lynnz
  15. 1 or 2 emails unsolicited in nearly 4 yrs...I can live with that. Plus the latest spammer hopefully has gotten shutdown over that recent spam. lynnz
  16. Matt, good luck with the move. Where in SE Ks are you going to? Pittsburg or Coffeyville area? I sometimes farm out work over in that part of the state and travel there. I'm in south central part of state. lynnz
  17. Lou, We have experienced the same problems since we installed MR0304. Restmill used to be very reliable before, but now it skips all over the place, stabs randomly, and tries to cut where material is already removed. We never had a tool breakage problem. Now we have to go over toolpath carefully to avoid breakage. lynnz
  18. I've been using MC and SW together since 97. They work together well. lynnz
  19. still here. Busy as ever. lynnz

    MAR-M

Jamman, Don't know much about it but located some info on this material at the link below. Sounds like some tough stuff. http://www.suppliersonline.com/propertypages/marm918.asp lynnz
  21. If you have access to Solidworks, Convert it there then bring the Solidworks file into Mastercam. Step conversion is a standard feature of SW. lynnz
  22. Mastercam and Solidworks are a big hit with us in our patternmaking work. lynnz
  23. We had about 8 confirmed tornadoes Wednesday nite in the county. Luckily no one was hurt, although about 6 homes were destroyed. The closest to me passed about a mile south of where I live. We spent some quality time in the basement that evening. I did have baseball sized hail in the yard. Lucky lynnz
