  1. On top operation manager 1. Tool setting 2. Click select on material 3. Right click and select “create new” 4. Type 100 in base cutting speed and base feed per tooth 5. Name it and save Use this material for all your machining by using surface feed and chip load for your tools the you think that it is appropriate for the material you are cutting.
  2. Why don't you export all operations from previous program that have all setting that you like to mill operations? Just import them in on next program.
  3. What do you think what x5 is? it is x4 plus new stuffs.
  4. If Mastercam would fix what anybody wants, it would have such a large file and may not be working at all. I've learned to work around what ever IT installed in our computer.
  5. 2d core mill. I use this with same hanita 5 flutes but 1 inch in diameter on all titanium and 15-5 stainless. take 2 depth cut on 2.6" deep like you picture. Hanita endmill wonderfull with kind of cut.
  6. without true solid, verifying is good but can't save as stl file. with true solid, speed slider is comletely to the speed side and tolerance is .008. What is the secret to verify dynamic mill that fast enough and also save stl file?
  7. Colin, I've asked skip to send this to CNC software for x5. thanks
  8. This one is very important for someone who use home/ref. points in linking parameters a lot. On approach and retract Z column should only accept positive number only. As long as Mastercam has been around I've never used a negative number. If you copied a unit that use ref. points and change plane. The number in Z column will change to negative and if one did not pay attention to this detail, machine will crash. may be we will have this in x5? what do you think?
  9. Easy to be less confuse about stl as stock in the wrong location in a second operation is using wcs. Do not use translate, rotate or anything after your first operation. Also leave stock view in stock setup alone. If it was "top view" on your fisrt op. and it should be for the rest.
  10. alt+z open level manager, click it again will close.
  11. It has to be because i think they will be one in the future. my two cents.
  12. hi j.nguyen, it seems like you are going thru a lot of trouble just to cut your parts. i am running mazak variaxis every day. i am using existing geometries. it's so rare that i ever create new geometries.
  13. hi, i am running variaxis 730-5x-II. when cutting stainless 15-5 i want to use air blast instead of coolant. need instruction of how to add m50 to canned text? or do i have to edit post? thanks
  14. It may look like it's crashing into part in verifier but I can guaranty to you it works fine in real cut. Even so it run fine at the machine it doesn’t set good with me to see that in Mastercam verifier.
  15. I am alway use force tool change on 5 axis move. for some reason in our post if we don't check on force tool change, we will have jerking moves even so c and a axis are unlock. so force tool change is there in this verifying problem.
  16. When verifying 5 axis tool paths. The end mill went thru part when it is switching from one side to the other. Actually when cutting in machine it is working just fine because Z home first before table turn. I was trying a whole bunch of numbers in z clearance but it made no different. Does anybody know why? X2, X3 or X4 do this.
  17. You are right Rick. It is consistence on all programs that we are working on. First the verifier is getting slower and then stops working completely. Colin it is not just one, I mean on all complicate parts that we do on our 5 axis, and most of the times we don’t have simple parts to cut.
  18. we are running x3mu1 on dell workstation t5400 quad core and just like magic in the worst way mastercam verifier just stop working with pop up warning "fatal error in verify click ok and call mastercam". It is not in the exact sentence but some of you may have seen this. What is it that causes this performance to cease?
  19. why do we need both? or because dynamic xform can't move wire frame in 3d? i've created wire frame box and moved with dynamic, the box got flat and not the same as it would witj xform 3d. thanks
  20. It is not just Mastercam, on any program if you are working from a server will be slower. My suggestion is open and work you Mastercam file in your main computer and save it to server after the completion. It is my two cents.
  21. It has happen to me sometimes too. You can work around it by edit tab and add tabs. They will show up just move them around where you want.
  22. Trying to convince that person is a loosing battle for you plus an extreme headache. I'm speaking from experience of dealing with this kind every day.
