Colin, After I save as geometry it does not have entity properties? Also when I have only that geometry, I just saved, on the screen it does not do a screen fit. It goes to the corner of geo where the tool path starts and ends, shows a tiny square and 5 lines (it created). Those are the only selectable entities on that layer. Rick

Hey Cuda, That worked but it broke it into really tiny arcs. Is there a way to make them bigger. The contour resembles flames. Thanks rick

If you have a long continuous curvy spline contour, can you convert it to a bunch of arcs? Like a 'create arc from spline' type of funtion? Thanks Rick

Great tip, Colin. (i take back the design limitations comment) Usually I design the shape on the part and project it down. Then using the drive curve to re-form the shape. like on the example I accidently deleted on my earlier post. MC squashes it when in 2d mode automatically. If MC can figure out how to let the flow curve to drw on the surf grid intersects, we won't have to create then delete the flow lines. Cheers Rick

Colin, I undertand those aspects. I use Surface display grid lines for creative design purposes. This is a simple (imported soap bottle) example shown. I change the grid lines in the U and V direction to 20. Create a couple of splines using the grid intersections. took 1 min. The Grid display linesare not actually lines or splines but I'd like to snap to the intersctions as endpoints to create spline profiles. Now I can project, modify or whatever to my new proflie to get a new design that I like. Recreate the new soap bottle model and bob's my uncle. This only scratches the surface(no pun intended) of the rapid design potential. This would be a good enhancement request. There are some design limitaions in MC. but I am totally 'Blown Away' with the tool paths. Thank you everyone for your help. Rick

Does anyone know how to change the amount of grid lines when creating a surface. Can you change the amount of gridlines on an imported or exsisting suface. (properties of a surface I suppose) Is there a way to snap to an intersection on grid lines of a surface. Thanks Rick

How old is your hardware, vid card, board - etc? Does it work in safe mode(most basic drivers) I,m thinking a compatability issue or possibly a monitor driver. Can you take your p.c. and monitor to the place you purchased the mon., maybe they can figure it out for free. Or can you budget a nerd for an hour? Rick

Get the latest vid drivers. Nvidia has new drivers out this month that should help. New drivers do wonders in many ways Rick

I was puzzled by this same behavior in Mastercam. My old software had 3 choices: One was to save visible.... very handy. In-house Solutions told me to save(entities needed)some, in a .mcx file. Open that file and then save the .igs Can hardly wait for that maintenace release, and and many more. Rick

Thad, We had that error on the other seat of Mc. (cannot find script file) On the sucessful one, it put the .vbs in the Chook folder automatically. After the error appeared: On the other p.c. we just tried copying the .vbs to the Chook folder from where they were originally located (after running the scriptlinker,restating and getting that error etc)and the error did not re-occur. I noticed that in my RMB the icons are sorta greyed out. Like something doesent know where to find the icon's locale. I dunno if any of this helps? Rick
