  1. Is there a way to place the XYX C-Plane (red, green and blue) indicator at the origin instead of the top left of the graphics view? Thanks Rick
  2. I brought the original igs into solidworks and parasolid it out. opened parasolid in X2. Still, only that surface will not apply 2 deg draft. still stumped RMS
  3. Being a green horn on solids I thought you had to use only solid type of cammand to work with them. Thanks for the tip. It is the sh*t!! Rick
  4. One surface out of 12 that I was applying draft to gave me a error. Also, can i fill in the holes with MC solids that are seen in the pic. I cant find a function to do it. Does anybody know how to do that. The file is located in the X2 folder on the FTP error drafting surface.zip Thanks Rick [ 02-03-2007, 06:16 PM: Message edited by: John Paris @ CDES ]

  6. What Colin said. I had to do what he said to get it to work on my p.c Rick
  7. It would be nice if Mastercam developed their own type of Mould's plus in their software. So you wouldn't have to purchase it.
  8. We just solve crashing and lockups on one seat by turning off the autosave.
  9. I use Invidia gforce 6600 512 mg pci express ddr2 Pretty cheap No issues to date. File sizes as big as 160 mg. Quadro is a great card, no doubt.
  10. Del I offset a profile and later offset a different profile the same a mount. Just hoping the amount would stay and not keep going to the default value. Rick
  11. understood I was just trying to do less clicking. Thanks
  12. I was just trying to do less clicking. (efficiency is golden) Maybe an enhancement Thanks Rick
  13. It is already checked. I see a xform Maintain box 'checked' in Cad settings is that any thing? Thanks
  14. In Xform offset contour: Is there any way to stop it from defaulting to .5 and stay at the last offset used during the same session. I went to use it 5 different times and it keep going back to .5 Thanks Rick
  15. quote: That's just MESSED up!!!! [Curse] Wrong in every way, because that opens up the door for having to be charged again for a post for every new release of software. I have to agree. Mastercam, and some other softwares seem to have created postpartum with there software. I used a different software for 8 years, many major releases and updates. I kept up my maintenance and the post was just a copy of the very first original file to each and every update and release. It updated itself in the directory and its done. Editing a post was as easy as editing g-code. Very user friendly. Its almost like the developers of certain cam packages think that cam software was invented before the CNC. I really hope I don,t ever have to pay for a post to run any CNC in my shop with the expensive software I purchased to run my CNC's. Especially if the software I pay maintenance for is updated. That seems a little ludicrous. I would hate to be the person, on other end of the phone conversation, when my Boss's machines are not running because of that. It also sounds like a 'bug' to me. Would it deter me from wanting to continue with a software and recommending it? I guess we'll have to wait and see.
  16. Hey MDx, hows my partner in crime today? RMS
  17. Not a square block. this might make it square thou...lol Rick
  18. Which this the best way if I was starting from scratch? -Create P/L -create center line of round on P/L -sweep full circle/runner -split and trim out P/L or -Create P/L as Solid (say 4" thick) -create center line of round on P/L -Extract the runner in the solid or cor and cav Still learning solids(not a lot of time to practice, to darn busy.) Thanks Rick
  19. Hardmill, Yes, thats it! So sweep on the contoured parts and you ruled the funnel area, cool. Thanks a bunch Rick
  20. If I made the P/L one surface using the base edge profiles. is there a way to flip/mirror the runner surfs using the P/L as one. I made the one suface p/l on a different lvl saved it and overwrote the file on the ftp site Thanks
  21. Hey Jack, How are ya doin? Contoured Parting line, mirror is not an option. Trying to scope out An easier X2 solution. You have to see it, bring you hasp home Mr.. I have converted to x2 on new jobs, but this one is in E.C. night mare mode on my old software, still. I can do it the long way in either of my softwares, but would like to see if an easier x2 way can get me to finish the job in MC Thanks Rick
  22. Does any one know how to complete the other half of a 1/2 round runner on an irregular shaped (contoured) P/L. an easier way than creating all the arcs and contours etc. Sorry it is not a solid. It is a file I will eventually redo in mastercam. this is just an E.C. I edited the runner in my old software coreside. and saved the core igs. Mirror won't be an option. Is there a way to create the opposite cav runner (1/2 round)to match the core side Parting line wil be a copy of the coreside If any one wants to take a look to see if I explained it properly it is on the FTP site in the MCX2 folder called base.mcx Thanks Rick
  23. Bruce I can't find a save named level default in the settings config. But as for line type and color set them in CAD setting(type of center line/pick line) then you can set the style color etc default. bringing in a named set of lvls is really quick and you can have many different ones for jobs with more components etc. Rick
