I have a new corporate comp and I can't edit my defaults. How do I tell if I have read/write permission?
Anyone else have this issue? I searched the forum to no avail.
Thanks,
Ken
Actually John, I did select the center of an arc letting Autocursor find it and the major dia. info is NOT greyed out. However, if I use the hotkey C and then select an arc the major dia info IS greyed out. I think this is what caused my confusion initially. Well that and it was Monday.
Okay it's been a while since I toolpathed a thread but when I select it, it asks for a point, so I choose the center of the hole and then go through filling out the options. I tell it my # of active teeth, pitch etc. I tell it my major dia. (1.125-12 I.D. thread) but it will cut to the dia of the arc that I selected and ignore the dia that I type in. WTF??
So I had to create a 1.125" dia arc and select the center of it to get the right code.
Is this a bug or am I missing something??
Anybody else have this problem?
I hope this makes sense.
I had one and had the same issue. It won't do dynamic roll or zoom. At least I couldn't get mine to. I suffered with it for over a year and finally got a wheel mouse yesterday.
Sorry I can't help. Wheel mouse is the way to go for me.
As far as regrinding these, you can't. The key to the speeds, feeds and tool life is the coatings. If you try to re-grind without recoating, the end mill is just a carbide e.m. and won't last 1 cut at the same S&F.
I just read this thread for the first time and I saw no mention of YG V-7 endmills. That's what we use with pretty good results. I don't know how they stack up against the others mentioned but I had good luck with 'em. 300-400 SFM .003 FPT. Very good tool life. JM2C
It backplots fine in M/C. but shows reverse arcs in prototrak backplot, but only on the finish tool.
Yes it's still posting X- even though it's set for D+ Z-. The axis combo is "Left/Lower" for both tools.
WTF??
