  3. Older Haas vf2 throwing alarm 243(bad number). this came after surfacing for 20 min or so the code line looks fine and it was only running a drip feed at 30.ipm so i would not figure that the control got starved. Any ideas?
  4. Also the inside corner min rad is .250 thats why I went down to a .234 ball did not want pinch in the corners.
  5. Finish waterline. Tolerance 2-1 .002 1" (depth of pockets are .960) step down .007 Add: pocket walls range from 12° - 23°. also using cabide ball for finish.
  6. The majority of what we cut is plastics and I have three blocks of 2024 that need 12 tapered pockets 1.0 deep I have roughed them out with a .750 bull with .1875 r and rest milled the corners with a .375 ball and now finish with a .234 ball however I cannot seem to get a clean finish any speed/feed recommendations for this. Oh yeah I am leaving .020 material for finish.. Thanks. E
  7. After import I always turn solid into surfaces and it never seems to fail that once i get into laying out toolpaths someone discovers that the model needs to be changed. 1: can I use change recog to update my current surfaces from the newer solid or must I create new surfaces from the new solid? 2: If I have not applied any paths to the changed geometry can I update said geometry?
  8. I am curious, would both of these replies produce the same result..

  12. I seem to remember using this toolbar some time ago. It had a nice little notepad and a calculator that did not go to the background of windows if you clicked somewhere in the Mastercam screen. Does any one know what I am talking about and where the thread was..
  13. With this particular file I opened a saved file that I use as a template for this part and then I merged the new solid.
  14. peon_ the problem is opposite. Before I select any chains is says one chain. After selecting only one chain and regen it know says I have two chains...
  15. I have a 2d contour that says there are two chains. The chain manager only shows one and even after a regen it still says 2. Has anyone else seen this..
  16. .mtb is your toolbars configuration. check the folder and make sure that file actually exists.
  17. I updated everything last week after installing 4. Per the sticky from JP and all was fine until today. When I post I get a box stating that the post was created from an earlier version please update the post.. I have again updated the post as to the instructions in the sticky. And still nothing. If I click through the box it will post but not as I have it set up. The A axis is unchecked in my def but still posts as A0 and the changes to my post are not being used. Ex: the spindle direction and speed are on the same line as the axis movement and have been moved to the previous line in my post.... HELP.
  18. Thanks for the input people... Good idea with the pdf Daniel I will give that one a try we have computers at each machine so might not even have to print it out just pull it up in adobe and there you go .....
  19. Who ever makes these fools better is really good at what they do .. But none the less if I give all the information in a good format then when something goes wrong its the fools problem not mine...
  20. I have been doing all the setups tooling and programming around here so I know what needs to be done and how. I am just starting to use setup sheets and instructions (using X+) for the other guys to do the setups. However it seems that I am not being clear enough to them on whats what. Maybe some people could post pics of there sheets and or methods here. And give your thoughts on fool proofing setups...

    X+ in X4

When I create my ops list with a screen shot and the origin visible the gnome is hard to see in the picture. whats the best way to specify the origin location on the setup sheet?
  22. Tux I was having a problem like this but it was when opening a file instead. and got a couple responses from the forum but none of them worked so I formatted my hd.. But try the things recommended in the link below.. http://www.emastercam.com/cgi-bin/ultimate...3989;p=1#000000
  23. If it is non-associative you can move it after its was used to create a origin and the origin will not move with it. However in your case you need to set the t/c to X-4.5 Y-2.5. then your path will be at x4.5 y2.5 like you want...
  24. "Right, and that is what I did. I just said it differently ('I setup the origin on the hole ')." If you set the t/c origin to the center of the hole then THAT IS your x y 0 ......
