  9. JDowe, Set your cut control to one way. That will open up the drop down menu for cutting direction. Select from outside to center.
  10. Heed, Is this what you have? Haas Link
  11. You can get a 4/5 axis mill training book from IN HOUSE SOLUTIONS, web address:www.emastercam.com. As far as training from Haas we bought a Haas VF-5TR in Jan. and the saleman for this area told us there wasn't any training classes for a 5 axis. We had a Haas app. tech come in for a few hours to go over the basic operations and controls and that was it. See if your MC reseller has a 4/5 axis class you can attend. That helped me learn a lot! Also you'll need to get a good 5-axis post. My reseller did an outstanding job of assisting me with my post and answering all of my questions. And last but not least use the forums search, lots of good info there.
  12. Rick, Thanks for the info. When I open the file I get "problem regenerating chain",then "error processing solid". Seems to be ok after that, but I think I'm going to use a backup file and start over. Be good practice for me. I need all the practice I can get. LOL
  13. Yes,I have the same error with a solid I'm working with. Doesn't seem to effect the saving of the file, just annoying.
  14. Karen, Sorry to have taken so long to reply. I have been out of the office this week. Answers: 1. C:Mcamx2-MR2 & C:mcamx2-mr1 (don't know why mcamx2-mr1 is installed) 2. Do not know as I have never used mcamx2-mr1 3. All the installs are standard per the reseller 4. yes, path is C:Mcamx2-MR2help 5. Yes,48 files 6. Yes 7. Help from the Help menu is slow, but Reference Guide opens ok. Help buttons and See Field Definitions are slow to open Thank you for your reply and assistance
  15. Hey everybody, When I click on any of the help menu's in MC it takes about 30-45 secs to appear. Anybody know why? Is there a setting to change? I'm running a Dell OptiPlex GX620,Intel Pentium 4 CPU 2.8GHz,1 GB of ram. I'm hopeing to get an new pc in a couple months. But for now I'm stuck with it.
  16. Ok,thanks I'll be gone by then. 5:30pm EST. is my quitting time. I'm still trying and starting to almost look like what I want. As to the dovetail, thats the only way I see I can get to the cut. I'm open to suggestions.
  17. Ron Teh Crazy Millman, thanks for the reply. Would I use the zip2go utility to send it?
  18. Ok,read the instructions, must have done it wrong.
  19. Hi everybody, I need help with a 5 axis toolpath I am trying to make around the inside of the part shown (at least I hope it is). I want to use a 3/4" x 45 deg. dovetail cutter coming in from the top of the part to make the undercut following the contour of the window. This will be cut on a Haas VF-5 trunnion. I spent most of yesterday afternoon trying to make this work and I'm just as lost as when I started. Thanks
  20. Colin, Thanks, that is what direction I had been leaning toward. I have had Basic Mill & Advanced Surface Mill and Design classes for X2-MR2,but the next Multi-axis class is not until late April. Our new Haas VF-5 trunnion can not wait that long.
  21. I see on the In-House Solutions site they also offer a MCX2 4&5 axis mill training tutorial. Does anybody have any idea which one would be better for someone thats new to MC.
