  1. Ocean isn't that a multi axis c hook- project5?Can't find just project.Anyone else have a pointer for me?Still getting the same message w/3d selection"warning boundary doesn't lie in construction plane"or if I use C plane selection "entity is not parallel to C plane".
  2. Searched for info on this, the message says my "boundary doesn't lie in construction plane"..last info on that problem,in 2007, says to squash the geo with c hook, or close and reopen.. can't find the c hook to squash my geo, closing and opening X3 does nada.Problem happened after mirroring my geo then doing some op2 toolpaths, my top of stock says .000029 WTF? I can do all other toolpaths but pockets, anyone seen this one and have a workaround?Gotta leave for the day hope someone has a fix for this in the morning.TIA for any help.
  3. Had EZ Cam here originally, got MC9 around 5yrs ago just stepped up to X2, X3 now X4 never looked back.. don't know what they are doing now but for support your local dealer and most of all THIS FORUM EZ Cam doesn't even play in the same ball park with MC.JM2C
  4. The one I was able to find in France would do from 7mm to 66 mm bars, an air operated unit. Another one that I can't find again, was just a head that went on a regular hand drill and did from 1/2 to 2" bars. Seems like it would be a great tool for anyone with a bar feed system..if anyone knows of anything please post, if I find it I'll do the same.
  5. That's what I'm looking for Chris. I believe it clamps on the OD and has a chamfer head that can do from 1/2 to 2 1/5 dia. bars. We have the same system as you with 4" belt but going thru allot of belts. Did a search but guess I need to try again with different search words. Saw that machine Dave, a bit more than the war dept. here is willing to shell out right now.Couldn't find anything in MSC Strabe. Thanks for replying all.
  6. anyone know of a hand drill attachment that will put a good chamfer on bar stock? only one I found so far is a company in France whose web site is in French..must be someone more local than that.TIA
  7. excel..check your settings>config>cad settings>and there are boxes to uncheck if you don't want "update of c plane and t plane when you change your g view", also "reset c plane to top in iso view" is controlled there..hth
  8. I think you need all your chains going the same direction or things get twisted up.hth
  9. I have a part that looks good in backplot but has extra material on verify, usually they match but maybe I've just been lucky until now. My question: is backplot still the one to believe?everything looks 1/4" off in Z on the verify screen.TIA for responding.
  10. Did'nt see your post Colin till after I posted so now I can find more using the index, you'd think they would all be under c-hooks..Thank for the pointers.

  12. only a few compared to the list in Run User Apps" where are the rest of them I only looked under c-hooks only 16 of approx 70 listed. CParish why is it your post count is stuck at 200? read another reply of yours it also said 200 posts.. Anyway thanks for the feedback fellows.
  13. BTW CParish congrats on your 200th post.
  14. That's good to know Eric but would love some c-hook tutorials or explanation of what they do and how to make them do it.
  15. Is there someplace to find out about all the C-hooks we have available in MC? Keep feeling like I'm missing so much not knowing what each one can do. A tutorial just on C-hooks would be worth allot IMHO.
  16. Alright,I gotta ask, even if everyone but me knows, where is this "dynamic pocketing" found?
  17. on my lathe, fanuc control, you can access a screen to turn down rapids to 0% 25% 50% 100% with the soft keys below the screen on the OPR= "operator panel" screen.only one dial for feed otherwise.
  18. some fanuc controls allow 1,5 delete and all 1-5 will be gone, on ours programs are O001 etc. so if I want O001,O5000(O0001-O5000) gone for ex. all those will be deleted, do'nt know about yours tho.they get deleted with a button on the keyboard not a soft key below the screen.HTH
  19. check the field defs it has to do with boring bar TPs only,"the distance it moves away from the wall before retracting"
  20. The last two days on start-up I get the Microsoft wants to load a program to find out if our version of XP is an authorized one..it is, but am wary of loading anything that might affect MC performance unless I absolutely have to. Any info on what it could do is welcome, it said this could not be uninstalled once loaded, WTF would I want that for then? Sounds like Microsoft is the only one to benefit from it tho from reading the disclaimer they did throw a few bones to whomever loads it.
  21. Thanks for the heads up. I'd always heard the same about AICC needed G49 prior to G5.1Q1 but nothing about canceling it(G5.1Q0) with the same command. I also found reference in the Machinist Handbook about G48 cancelling G49. Fanuc trumps that outdated version it seems.
  22. quote: Fanuc AICC and AIAPC both REQUIRE that this mode be set and canceled individually for each tool. You MUST cancel an active height offset with G49 BEFORE activating AICC or AIAPC. You must also activate it BEFORE calling a tool height offset with G43. If it is canceled mid-program, before the end tool's work is done, you'll need to cancel an active height offset and reactivate AICC or AIAPC. Once it's canceled, you need to follow the rules to restart it. I think G48 is the cancel command for G49, G49 is required to activate AICC etc. Might be wrong on that.
  23. in view manager is also a box "update graphics view when WCS changes".some combination of those may work for you.
  24. Might play aroud with settings>config>CAD settings>chech or uncheck the boxes "Update c/t plane when chaging Gviews" and "reset T plane to top in ISO G view" but you probably know this.HTH
  25. James, Can it be in the first line of the next tool and get the same result? ie.G17G0G80G40G90G49 or should it be immediatly after G5.1Q0? TAI
