With "Default to last mode used" unchecked, it defaults to C-plane (if checked). Since checking the default box doesn't gray out the C-plane/3D buttons, I would assume those would still be active, but they are not. Roger, are you saying that is not what you are assuming?
BTW, if the last mode box is checked, once I change to C-plane while chaining, it stays there for the rest of the session, along with the mode (chain, single, partial, etc.). I would just like it to initially come up as C-plane. So in that sense, the last mode box does affect everything in that box.
I have my default chaining mode set to C-plane in my config, but it always defaults to 3D. I thought this worked in earlier versions, but I can't get it to work in X4. Any suggestions?
I've been having a problem printing shaded surfaces in X4. Things look fine on the screen, but when I print the graphics, some surfaces are shifted slightly or missing. Anyone else having problems like this?
Leave it the way it is. I used Delcam where you had to hold down the Control key and if you missed holding it down part way through, you would lose all your selections. A real pain.
Have you tried unchecking the "Use tool's step, peck, coolant" in the tool settings page? I always turn this off when importing operations and usually don't have a problem.
Has anyone experienced increased import times with X4? I am seeing 300-500% longer times in X4 than in X2 when importing iges files. I know most people here don't like iges, but is this an issue with other formats?

I know I can change all the tools in my current job. I would like to be able to change them in the tool file so I wouldn't have to worry about it when I pick tools in new jobs.
When I installed MX4, it turned off the coolant on all the tools in my tool file. Is there any way to change them all back at once instead of going into each tool and changing it manually? Thanks.
I talked to my reseller and he got it fixed. There were paths in the registry that were still pointing to mcamx3, which had been uninstalled. He has run into this a few times.
It created a new config file, but it still won't see the file in the configuration settings page or let me save the current configuration to a new file. Even with new config file created, I still get an error on starting Mastercam:
"User-specified startup config file was not available. Setting Mastercam to the default config file for this session only"
I have used Vericut and Predator, and Vericut is better unless you use undercut tools (lollipops, backdrafts). The last time I used Vericut, it couldn't handle these. I have also had trouble with Predator support.
I am trying to convert some old v.6 files (GE3) to v.9. I got the GE3_2_MC9 script off the ftp site, but I get an error when I run the script (Type mismatch 'ClearPromptLines'). Any suggestions/fixes? Thanks.
I have had this problem in X2, but it only jumps to another open Mastercam window and it only happens when the other open window is hidden behind the one I am working on. If the other window is minimized, I don't have a problem.
I have some .txt_v9 files that were created when the old posts were converted to X. Look at the date on the files. Are they older files or were they just created recently?
