    pdf

hello how do any of you save a 3d model as a pdf file? i tried some online stuff but could not make it work
  2. okay i have a question, once you get this info which i think is about as useful as a kick stand on a dinosaur. what are you going to do with it? i will say i have used reverse wear! why if you run old machines (junk) that could not take a negative value in the diameter this is the only way to make it go. to top that and really make all you comp, no wear, wear nuts cringe. i ounce went to a shop that had a few old machines that could not take the negative number, so the whole shop new machines and old all had to programed reverse wear so no one would screw it up going from machine to machine. talk about making your head spin
  3. omg not this again! it will never end. dumbest argument since cam was invented, i think the admin should add a pin this is a restricted topic forever the easiest fix is pick one and stick with it. even a one man band has to make a rule and stay with it. that's enough time wasted
  4. we just got it fixed 8 months later but it seems to be spot on. 1 the software has to be updated ,the repair haas has made to the dynamic work offset. 2 the machine has to be laser calibrated, others discus this in another thread about the machine. this is a 100 and 10 percent a must if you don't you should just take the machine out to the dumpster and throw it out. i would have never said this with out seeing it with my own eyes what this does. take the suggestion or not, you are head for a hard road.
  5. can you tell me if the multi axis book covers how to use the misc value switches? thanks
  6. It is a students lap top, its an HP that what i thought it was to but you never know. thank john
  7. so I have this panel that will not open correctly has anyone got any idea? I tried running repair but nothing tried the resolution but nothing.
  8. omg ! this sounds like my conversation everyday with tools and the setup guys I feel your pain man
  9. 1 cut the post off and tell them you don't know what happened what type of machines do you have? lathe 2 axis ? mill 3 axis ? a 1/8 ball mill to finish it will make it but its going to be ugly
  10. so when i exit 2017 it crashes then tries to restart. this is something new never did it before any clues out there?
  11. hello all first i know 5 axis and fadal in the same sentence is crazy. i did call the dealer to get some info from them. I know they are not free, this is not my first rodeo. Just doing my home work before i do anything learned my lessons for before. Is there one already made? (why reinvent the wheel) Did a search and did not really find any answers. What is the difference between the dealer and cnc service on here making it?
  12. you can find X , Y ,B ,C , on your own with an indicator. so every machine is a little different because of machining the casting so if you really want Z , you will have to have haas come out there with the key and unlock the trunnion and probe the table 90 degrees right and with the haas key 90 degrees left then divide by 2 that will give you the Z value you are looking for. and there you have it.
  13. just fyi got it confirmed the first addition books has a typo. good thing i know am a little crazy but thought i was completely loosing it.
  14. hello all has anyone done exercise 4 milling in the beginner book ? this makes no sense to me. it is a solid model of a wheel with spokes. the book has you chain a triangle spoke and it cuts the top in a circle? how is this possible i followed the book to the letter and it cuts triangle but one of my students got it to work any ideas? Mill Part # 4.emcam
  15. do you guys think there is a difference between having the laser done by Haas vs having a 3rd party around here in New England do it?
  16. hello all so we have this machine up and running. had some glitches along the way not fun. the post works great, good job on that. does everyone use the DWO on this machine? has anyone had trouble with it not repeating randomly? what language should the control be in or does that even matter. Fanuc, Yasnac,Haas, i am assuming the post is written in Haas so this is why i ask if that has any bearing on it. thanks
  17. Danger Danger we have one it was only 2 weeks old and it was over revved it blew up! i would not do this. also is anyone have one that is giving them repeatably problems? like it runs parts holding .0005 then the next part is out .005-.008 thousands
  18. okay this took me forever and a day to get back to but here it is. came out good the eagle ceremony is Sunday. his father is more excited then him.

    USB

Can one of those muti USB sticks be used to plug a hasp into and a mouse at the same time? My laptop just blew all but 1 and I don't want to buy one if it won't work
  21. so one video i saw was on a haas doing 800 in aluminum okay do able. you think the haas will stand the test of time?
  22. I got a question about the video's (on YouTube) and articals of going 800ipm. is anyone here running every day at these speeds? the other thing is what kind of shape will the machine be in a year or two of running day in and out like that. what machine can take that every day? i have done about 250ipm once in a while but i think something is going to brake.
  23. (It sounds like the real problem is your lack of experience with rotary machining. ) the only lack of experience i would have is with a horizontal tombstone. this was what my original question was about. we have 3 other 4th set up on different machine with no problems. this rotary is new to this machine 2014 milltap 700 with a 840D seimens that is password protected by dmg/mori. i guess i would have to ask the dealer if they would give me the code? also i think this tread has bin beaten to death now. no use wasting anymore resources on it.
