  1. not to mention that your tool can get all out of whack in X6. It will say one thing in your operation manager but when you open that operation up it will be something completely different. I had posted code that I ran thru vericut that had the wrong tool number. Took a while to figure this one out. I don't copy operations any more. Would like to but too unstable.
  2. I have been doing the same thing. Do we ever get a response from mastercam on the crash reports?
  3. I am having problems with X6 crashing. It seems like it has a lot to do with stock model. Anyone else having crashing issues?
  4. Is anyone out there experiencing better computer performance with X6. I ran the benchmark file for my box in X5 and then when I started using X6 I did it again. X6 was about 3 seconds faster.
  5. I have had similar problems. Also, it seems like the transform operations get "dirty" a lot. Have even had problems with transform corrupting the Mastercam file and causing problems the next time I get into it. The only work around that I have found is to transform operations with creating new operations and geometry. It sucks. Would be nice to be able to use this feature because in aerospace there are a ton of mirrored parts or opposites.
  6. It seems as though I am going to have to use a macro or long hand. One would think that this could be a canned cycle......
  7. I have some hole I am drilling that are very deep. We start with a jobber length drill then, go to two longer length drills. I was wondering if there is a way to start drill #2 and #3 at the last drill point but retract to the top of the part. G code would be easiest.
  8. I would recommend getting in touch with your local Onsrud representative. They have been extremely helpful in our shop with these applications.
  9. I would recommend getting in touch with Blaser. They are a very good cutting fluid company. They came into our shop and tested our water and then made a recommendation on what we should be using for our applications. I'm sure they would do the same for you. Give them a try.
  10. I have purchased three units from Solid Box. What a great concept!! They all run flawless. I haven't had a crash in Mastercam since the purchase and I tend to work on large files regularly. I highly recommend them.
  11. Stupid question time. I downloaded this file now what? Set-up sheets are a major pain in the arse here. I am looking for solutions.
  12. Maybe I missed something here. I read in an earlier post that you can leave your view manager open on another screen. I just tried it and when I do this I can't do anything else until I close the view manager. Is that right?
  13. Thanks, I just have noticed that I have to do the RAM Saver a lot when working with big tool paths. Surface High Speed and dynamic milling.
  14. I was just wondering how most users set up their undo events setting in the configuration. Any input would be appreciated. Austin Graves Mill level 3 Mastercam X5 Solid box Cobalt level 1
  15. I am new to this 3rd party add on. Where are instructions on how to use it? MasterCam X5 MU1 Mill Level 3/Solids/Moldplus/Multi axis Dell Precision - T3500 Intel Xeon Quad Core W3565 @3.20GH Windows 7 - x64 - 6G nVidia Quadro 2000 1G (Solid Box Cobalt Level 1)
  16. we had the same issue and found out that the video card needs to be a nividia. i recommend trying this as it helped us. we got a good one
  17. Harvey Tool is what we use mostly. However, you can only take light cuts with their "lolli pop" cutters.
  18. I am located downtown by St. Francis Hospital. I would gladly accept any invitation to learn anytime. You can email me at work: [email protected] Once again I really appreciate it. Have been learning a lot on my own. Can be difficult at times.
  19. I am considering purchasing some training literature for helping me with X2. Have been doing three axis work for a year and we are pushing forward fast on 4 and 5 axis work. We have had a Haas VR-11 for two years and I have been learning 4 and 5 axis programming on the fly. Can be a struggle at times. Does anybody have any suggestions?
  20. Thanks, Yeah good ol' Wichita. Well, I figured it out. Had to sift thru the help pages MC has. Seems that you have to put the A axis as a sibling to the X axis. Then, you have to put a workholding device at the bottom of any axis combination. Haven't ever messed with this before.
  21. When you say fixture components do you mean that I should put the rotary axis in with the a axis. If I do where does it go in the tree?
