  1. My commute is about 100 one way.... err thats paces not miles sorry. From my back door to the shop door is 30 seconds, of course thats during rush hour.
  2. As a small business owner (2 employees), this new method of upgrading is disturbing. We have one seat of Mill Level-3 w/ Solids. For our size shop, that is a sizeable investment in software. We Purchased version 7 skipped 8 and upgraded to 9. Thats one of the reasons we went with Mastercam, not being required to pay for all upgrades. Now I will have to pay for versions that I don't need. What ticks me off is how the price is trivialized 15 percent here 5 percent there. Hey, that comes directly out of my pocket, how much I bring home to my family. I am more than happy to pay for upgrades that can make me money. Version 8 would not have helped, but version 9 was a good investment. I love Mastercam, but it seems they are forgetting about the small shops.
  3. I uploaded Project_issue2.MC9. I moved your part to the System Top Plane. Hope thats what you want.
  4. At this point I don't know what these parts are. I am quoting some parts that attach to them. These are Investment Casting.
  5. Thanks for looking at my file. Thanks Todd for converting the file for me. I am not sure why Mastercam chokes on it for me. I have 9.1 with all the updates including the latest translators. It could be time to replace my 2 year old computer running Win98. The converted file gets pretty big, 23 megs! I am going to upload one more file "Leehound2.zip". If some would convert that one also, I would really appreciate it. Thanks for your help!
  6. I have a parasolids file that a customer sent me. I normally don't have any problems with his files. But Mastercam always freezes when I try to read the file in. I uploaded the file into Files_to_be_converted_to_MC. It is "Leehound.zip". Could someone try and open it, before I go to the customer and tell him he has a bad file. Thanks in advance.
  7. Battlefield 1942! Can't beat it for a multiplayer experience.
  8. I think I got the fillets for you. Check it out in MC9 folder. CANEHANDLE-LEEHOUND.MC9 I had to make some slight changes to your geometry, to get it to work. Changed your lines so they were tangent to your arcs. Also added some small fillets.
  9. I can't listen to this song, Windows media player says that this song has been played on multiple computers and won't allow me. Whats up with that!
  10. Mayday, That worked, but instead of selecting the N9 plane I was able to select a solid face. Tahnks for all the help! Scott Leland SJC Tool & Engineering
  11. I really feel embarressed. I have been using Mastercam for 4 plus years and I never used the WSC manager. What have I been missing! I really feel enlightened. What else don't I know about, probably a lot. Thanks for the help! But now how do I permantly move the part from the new WSC:n9 to WSC:T, I want to merge this part with another and they probably should have the same WSC, right? Thanks again Scott Leland SJC Tool & Engineering
  12. I have been using Mastercam for several years. I am starting to read this forum on a regular basis, and I see that there are a lot of sharp people here. So maybe one of you can help me out. A customer sent me a solids file that I brought into mastercam with no problems. The problem is that when the part is viewed in the top, side or front views it is not flat or parallel to any plane single plane. The part is skewed at a compound angle. Is there an easy way in mastercam to pick a flat face and orientate it so that face is flat in the top plane. Thanks in advance. Scott Leland SJC Tool & Engineering
  13. Hi, I have been building Investment Casting Molds for 11 years and have been using Mastercam for 2 years. I hope to get useful information from this forum.
