  1. quote: She wasn't even mad! Yeah, right!!! Trust me...You are living with a bomb with a REALLY long fuse. When it goes off, it WILL hurt. Sorry pal, You gave her ammo for years to come. Been there, done that, got the bruises to prove it. (She scheduled my V surgery with a smile on her face.)
  2. HERE! I have no answers and I have no questions. I'm here for the humor. I'll let you know when I find some.
  3. Pooh needs to cut back...I'd recommend Puff-->PASS
  4. Have a good weekend everyone. When you're drinking around the campfire this weekend (like me), remember to raise your glass to the Men and Women who gave us what we have today. BTW...Brent and others...I'll be at the airshow in Manitowoc next weekend. It's a great time. Usually an appearance by a Stealth or F-14. Later I was supposed to be gone an hour ago!
  5. Rekd, My kids are similar age to your's (or so I gather) My 4 year old does well on the computer as well. We got the kids one of those plastic "play houses" for out by the swingset. The first time my 2 year old got inside it she opened the window and said "You want a taco?" LOL!! She can spot a Taco Bell sign a mile away...I guess she's been through the drive through once or twice. They sure make you look at the world in a different way.
  6. Did you hear that they shut down the meat packing plant in Rochester? THEY GOT CAUGHT PUTTING BRAINS IN THE POLISH SAUSAGE!! Sorry, Couldn't resist. TGIF
  7. FYI, Leaving a diesel idle is better for the engine that a restart. Being in WI, I wonder how the hydrogen or electric car would ever hold up in the wide varience of temps...-30F to 110F. near $2.20 for reg. now. This SUCKS. Come on G.W. you can lower the price AND win the election any day now.
  8. BIOS? I'm looking in control panel-->devices-->LPT and I don't see any of those settings. Am I in the right ballpark? Thanks, ScottyB.
  9. I have a program (not MC) that works on my computer and a few others, but won't work on a second PC that's in my office. There is a SIM key and the software is loaded on the network. The SIM is installed locally. Both computers have the same OS (Win2000). The program is not seeing the key installed on the PC's LPT. I'm wondering if the LPT is working (although the diag. says it is). Does someone have an easy test? The program has run on my puter for many years. I know this isn't MC related...but you guys are better than most support guys out there so...what the heck. Thanks, ScottyB.
  10. Dear Jaws, +1 to what they said. Move on.
  11. I agree with Metal Marvel. If you're the one who gets the boot...It's not the type of company you want to be with anyway. (Easier said than done...but you'll have a clear conscience.)
  12. Holy shi'ite!!!!! I think we have proof of chemical weapons being used on Israel.
  13. Dude, What are you using for lubricant? One for the machine, one for me, one for the machine... BTW, Thanks for the inspiration...My mind operated in "Off Topic" mode most of the day.
  14. I hope I can speak for some of the little guys w/ <250 posts. I am a big fan of OT. It means I can come to the forum for info. or to rest my brain from to much info. I AM NOT a big fan of one user having 6 different user names. There is no need for that. Iskandar, I've read many of your posts. I respect you and your experiences -both MC and nonMC related-. I DON'T respect anything Pooh says. I don't care if I want to talk about Football or how to edit a post for my Heian...I will not take Pooh or Piglet or any other character du jur seriously. Dividing this forum into Topic vs. Non Topic groups can only hurt. Sticking with one identity can only help your credibility. And now I can't believe I wasted 10 minutes of my day on this. Let's move on.
  15. quote: Scotty what bars do you frequent in GB? Frequent used to be an understatement...now it's an overstatement. I used to hang out at THE Bar, or Grizzly Rose back in the day. Now I stick closer to home around Wayside, Denmark, Circle Tap or the Coop. Like anyone else, I spent my due time on Main St. (xxxx and Bull, etc.) Hangovers don't bother me anymore...It's the kids jumping on the bed at 7am that hurts. I sound like I'm 33 going on 60. Nowdays I prefer to go up north for a 3 day drunk every 4 months. Sorry to be babbling about drinking but...it's Friday. I can't help it.
  16. I've been working here 14 years and my wife has only been in my office once, but if I reply to the "pretty yooper girl" comments like I want to...she'll walk in and read over my shoulder. ScottyB staying away from the thin ice. Brent, We've got to get together. I've been to Manty a lot lately. I'm sure there's a bar that serves my favorite domestic beer there.
  17. quote: Any idea if I can skip to the D21 offset I'm using (ie: T1, H1, D21) quickly or do I have to cursor to it by page? Page UP/DOWN??? It should get you there in 3 or 4 clicks... Our Fanuc manual works well as a dust collector. It collects at least .25" of dust every 6 months. I just have the ALARM pages tabbed. I love to see dust on the book...that means everything is running well.
  18. This thread is hitting to close to home for me to stay away from. We turn in Crystal Falls to go to a friends' cabin on the Paint river. My wife's a yooper. (A pretty one...they're rare.) I've seen Esanaba in the Moonlight...The first half was the funniest I've EVER seen, the second half was BAD. I've been called a cheesehead more times than I can count...I've called others FIBs that many +1. I think we can boast the most serial killers from one state also. No wonder we drink so damn much.
  19. We have about the same vintage O-M controller. Here's a sample... (T5=30mm cutter) N105 M341 (VACUUM ON) N110 G90 N115 S15 M03 N120 M06T5 N130 M13 N140 M11 N145 G56 G0 X-39.7596 Y-15.6174 N150 G64 G43 H5 Z.25 N155 G0 Z.1 N160 G1 Z-.375 F100. N165 G41 D15 X-39.9752 Y-15.7438 F300. As mentioned, you enter the values associated with H5 and D15 in the offset screen of the controller. The O-M controller is a scaled down Fanuc...but you'll get used to it. I'm guessing you also have the scaled down keyboard that doesn't have all the keys...that's fun. I'm happy to hear of another O-M. I was starting to think they only made 1...ours. Good Luck
  20. Come on Rekd, Last Saturday it was snowing, this Sat. it should be 75...And I didn't have to leave my own yard!! Aint it great!! I envy your weather most of the time, but I honestly love April, May, Sept, Oct, Nov. in WI. One just has to ask himself what the hell is wrong with his head the other 7 months of the year. I saw turkey, deer, blue heron, geese, ducks, pheasants and rabbits from my back porch in the last 2 days. That doesn't mean much to some...but I like it. BTW I can get Capt'n and Coke up here too. Have a good weekend...I M OUT!!
  21. Come one James, The ice has been off for a few days now!! J/K it's actually almost 80 today. Thanks to Toolfab for finding the helmet for me. I couldn't resist. The schedules out, the draft is upon us...so basically IT'S FOOTBALL SEASON, BABY!! BTW, You So. Cal guys might want to consider this $10/hr job...with the cost of living adjustment it's equivilent to $90/hr in Cal. Later
  22. This may not be the ideal place to advertise this job, but all of us know of someone looking for work so... *Full Time *Router, Lathe, Plasma, Milling machine work *Some CNC, some manual *Small Farm Implement Company 20+ yrs. old *Working with plastic and metal *Green Bay WI area *Future programmer possiblility I've been helping the owner setup and program his router and he's ready to get a full time operator. The candidate needs to be motivated and able to multitask. This would be a good place for a graduate with some experience to get more experience in many aspects of machining. I'm guessing the wage will be in the $10-$12 range. ScottyB. ready to hand over the keys and find my next challenge.
  23. Welcome! I've been looking for a good post for our Weeke also...No luck. However, I can do 99.9% of my tasks with Woodwop or Autocad/Woodwop combo. I use MC for another machine. What are you trying to do?
  24. Beer is the answer! Now what was the question???????
  25. Cool Avatar! The bar has been raised. Now I have to think of something with a story behind it. Maybe a pic of a gas pump. That seems to be the reason I work now days. Think damit think!!!!! To be continued...
