  1. Anyone have any ideas on this 1 . Am i going about this the wrong way ? thanks in advance
  2. I tried that. if the rotary is rotating from the origin and not the center of the arc which is 10.875 . wouldn't their be a different y position for each slot. cuz if i was rotating from the center of the arc it would be just a 3 degree index and the y wouldn't move.
  3. i posted a file to the ftp in x4 files : slotrotary8_17_9.mcx I'm having trouble getting the slots to come out right . I want to rotate from the origin.I'm thinking that their should be a different y position for each slot because its not rotaing from the center of the arc. I know you guys can point me in the right direction!!!
  4. jdowe and freza if u read jp's and my posts u will see thier are two ways of getting what i want done . mill_inch.dfaults or what ever defaults files u use has to be brought back into mcam . when its brought back in to mastercam using the machine with the "PROPERTIES" named the way i want. u then either export those ops (which also exports the properties) or save and rename as default file. i know what u guys are saying its just not how to get what i want done.
  5. freza thats only gonna change the default machine loading at start up not the settings in the operation default file
  6. I tried a different way by coping and moving the default and operations files then importing the operations file into mastercam then exported made acopy of that operations file renamed it a default file and Bobs ur uncle. I like having this kind of stuff named accordingly I think Generic Mill was just to vanilla for me. and I knew it could be changed. Thank for being Patient and for all the help!!!
  7. i know what ur saying but its not what i'm looking for . If u go to the control def and go to operation defaults it has the machine group tab then under that it has the properties tab which is named Generic Mill. i would like to change the name of the properties from Generic Mill to something custom. its got to be something with the mill_inch.default file that i'm using.
  8. I'm talkin bout the mill_inch.default in the control def in default ops.
  9. whats in machine def?
  10. I searched but could not find the thread. what i wanna do is change the name of the properties under the machine group in the op defaults. Mine says Properties- Generic Mill . i would like it to say Properties- Haas VF . Thanks for any help
