ok last time. here is what i have. everything is fine if i check all boxs before i do a job.this will stay this way for the whole job. now when i go and start a new job i will have to recheck and uncheck boxes.it just won't stay as i want it. like it use to.that's it, i guess i will just work around it .thanks for the help hey howed this happen,just the way my day is going. marty

not sure on what to do with the default tab but use existing box is checked and job set up box is unchecked.still all tools i call up are 1 2 3 etc.sheesh am i having a brain freeze here.starting to get that uneasy feeling now when i go back in an old job before getting new computer everything is fine marty

morning everyone.i recently got a new comp. here and loaded mcx and 8.1.1.my problem is all my tool numbers are messed up in 8 i did a search and found the answer i thought i checked the box in job setup.but it doesn't stay that way.it goes back to selecting tool numbers from 1 then 2. am i missing a setting here. thanks in advance for any help marty

well i got a new comp here. was running windows nt.now i have windows xp. i am keeping 8.1.1 so i can still program while i learn mcx. well 8.1.1 acts really diffrent in xp. for example i can't see the arrow when i pick my profile start or when roughing a hole. or when i back plot i can't see the tool path or the cutter. or when i'm done verifing it goes back to my orig. screen. anyone come across these things. am i missing a setting or something.thats all i can think of as of now. man what a pain.as always your help is always appreciated. just wait till i get into x. oh no marty

+1 Bernie if i am reading this right just draw a line .200 in from outer dia or 2.30 from center.make sure you extend your line past the outer dia. but not to far maybe .03 or so, then do your contour toolpath marty

when i program for drilling i will run back plot in the front view this is where i see where the drill will be starting at,when i have different starting depths.i will also run verify. but i will catch all my mistakes for drilling in back plot. marty

+1 robk when i reverse my toolpath i have to cange side also. then my path will be climb cutting.i will forget about changing side and it will do what yours did. thanks to verify, saved me many a time. marty

ok Threept82 i figured it out. i hit alt/print screen then paste it in paint, then you can print it out. i'm doing this because when i try something new i would right any changes i made on paper. this makes it much easier. you probably already new this. me it takes me a while to catch on. marty

sometimes my mouse will freak out on me and if i just unplug it and plug it back in it is ok,but i lose my scrolling. so i have to rboot my computer and all is fine don't know if this apply's to you.hth marty
