  1. Oops. Facing the part using a 1/2" Diamond Coated Endmill. Face mills like to chip the part pretty bad and I want to ramp up the spiral using a small amount of step over moving up to a higher stepover. Thanks
  2. I have a circular with a hole in the middle (looks like a donut) part made out of green ceramic. I need to face the part using a 1/2" I want to face the part halfway from the inside out halfway using a spiral toolpath (which I have working using a pocket toolpath) and then from the outside in halfway using a spiral toolpath. How do I do the spiral from the outside in? I have one circle drawn for this.
  3. the file was never moved, tried BIGBAMMBINO's idea, still opened up all screwed up with geometry missing and stuff.
  4. I have a part file that was saved when it was completed. Now, when I try to open it up I get an error that says: Cannot Open File; Location It is a file from a newer mastercam version or it is not a file format recognized by mastercam. Anyone else ever get this? Why is that? Any help at all would be great. Thanks.
  5. Started to post some transformed toolpaths, and crash boom baugh, mastercam goes down.
  6. The contour is basically a square shape with the front side missing. The back side is the contour i need to follow to rough it out, but the I need to stay within the boundries of the 2 side entites.
  7. I have a 3 sided contour that I need to rough out for a .0625 carbide ball finisher. If I use multi pass, I step out from the center of the contour in each direction. Is there a way to Only step back towards the back entity and use the two side entites as a type of boundry??
  8. I have a cylinder that I need to mill 8 helical slots in that are 45 deg. apart from one another. So I draw one, go and do a transform toolpath, rotate it starting at 45 deg. withn 45 deg increments using right side for my view. Well, it verifys correctly, but when I try to machine the part, it runs the first contour correctly, but when it goes on to do the second, third, etc... It just remachines the same slot as the first. The part doesn't move the 45 deg. to the next slot. Any idea why?
  9. Is there a way to lock or join together 2 entites that are perpindicular to each other. What I have are 2 partial arcs that intersect. If they were straight lines, they would be perpindicular to each other. I need to be able to rotate them and have them joined at the intersection. Sometimes, when I rotate them to chage the angle of them, they will seperate by .00003 inches and make my toolpath contour not work. So I want to lock the entites together so that when they rotate, they rotate together and do not seperate. Any ideas on this one?
  10. I changed a few things in my drawing, and when I went to verify it, I needed to do a screen fit and when I did. I once again lost all cabin pressure and crashed killing everyone on board. Good thing Mastercam doesn't fly planes. Hehe.
  11. I have .dxf and .dwg files of the pic, but when I open them, there is nothing there. Just black screen, no entities.
  12. Is there a way to import an image into mastercam so that you can draw on top of it, like if i wanted to duplicate an image into Mastercam drawing so I could machine it. I am looking to import a picture of my Company's logo, draw the outline on top of the image, and then get rid of the image to have the Mastercam drawing of it so I can machine it. It can be done in AutoCad, but not sure about MastercamX. Anybody?? Thanks in advance.
  13. I cut out alot of 10-32 Elektralube taps with a .125 Carbide Endmill. Crank the spindle up to about 5000 to 7500 RPM. Jog down until you touch the tap and start feeding very slowly. I usually feed about .5 inches a minute. Use an airline to keep it cool. Should have no problem. Dont go too fast or you will melt the endmill and have to EDM the hole out. Thread forming taps are more tricky because they dont have flutes. The 10-32 taps that I use are 2 flute gun taps so they have the flutes which make fore easy removal. Best of luck.
