  1. You are the man!!!! But now my file name path is always "machine_group_1" it doesn't seem to change no matter what I change my nc file name to. I really apprecialte the help.
  2. For the life of me I can not get my html setup sheet to output an .html extension. It keeps out putting an .nc extension. This a version 9 html sheet (slightly altered in house solutions version) thet I ran the updatepst on and fixed a couple of other issues but I can't get this one fixed. Any help would be appreciated
  3. I don't beleive it is a bug. You just don't have the option like you did in Mc9. I pointed this out before to CNC. You would need a save as / save some. I agee though it needs to happen especially if you have an assembly of parts.
  4. Does anybody have any ideas on why the hasp fails on Mc9 and not on X?
  5. These are my findings: I set up an Intel D Extreme Edition. Loaded XP64. X ran after I updated the Hasp drivers fo XP64. Mc9 would still error "Hasp not found". Maybe somebody has some ideas on how to fix it but, as far as I can tell Mc9 will not run on Xp64 but X will.
  6. If you go into configure under cad settings you can turn display center of arcs off.
  7. No ethernet connection to that controller that I've heard of.
  8. Which controller do you have?
  9. quote: Main Menu / Screen / Configure / Toolbars keys tab is in upper left corner.HTH
  10. I beleive if you map a key to hardcopy when your verify is done you can hit hardcopy then.
  11. John, you realy need to talk to your boss about getting you a nice intel proscessor with hyper-threading. You won't regret it.
  12. quote: Cimco HSM has greatly improved the finishes in our aluminum molds. The only downsides I've encountered so far is that processing time takes a good bit longer, and that it can get trick drawing boundary lines sometimes (no check surfaces). What kind of hardware are you using? Slower calculating should be the last thing you would see. I didn't see any body mention it but, HSM does support dual proscessing. Works really well with HyperThreading.
  13. How is your start up and recovery set up in windows?
  14. quote: Well for the Money of HSM and us with 5 Seats think I will stick with MatainenceI don't want to seem out of line but, I find the price to be reasonable for what the product is. We save so much time in cruching numbers and remachining that I geuss that the cost didn't really seem that bad. I beleve a seat of mill level 3 with HSM is one of the most complete cam packages out there for a great price.
  15. We have two seats of it here. I honestly don't know how we got by with out it. It isn't only the roughing that make's it work so well, it's the way it enters the steel, the way it remachine's, the way it roll's thru corner's, etc. and most of these things happen automatically without having to define them. If you are cutting hardened steel with MC you have to have this. If you got the flyer on the last release then you have had a preview of the new roughing routine. That is like nothing I have ever seen before.
  16. quote: You don't need to send it out for maintenance, do you?No, but you do need to make sure you keep them (and the dia. reducing sleeves) clean or the sides will get scratced by the fine chips. For the most part, ideally you would like to have the whole bladder filled, but here in the real world we will blank off the ends of our scrap endills and use them to fill the bladder and back up our endmill. I wouldn't hold on to any less then about 1-1/2 on most cutters, but you can obviously hold onto less for smaller cutters.
  17. I consider heavy roughing to be taking a 1" corn cob rougher 3/4 deep 1/2 step over. The hydrauilc really shines for long lenght to dia. ratios when high speed finishing. But for normal cutting conditions they are the most effective holder I have ever used, they are fast to load and pretty much matience free, with good gripping power.
  18. We use Schunk hydraulic holders here they are much better than precision collets and really good for finishing since they tend to absorb vibration. I would not suggest them for heavy roughing though.
  19. You need to use G64 for high speed roughing and G61.1 for finishing.
  20. We run a ethernet connection to our M32 don't remember how much the card was but it works really well. We are even able to restart in the middle of the program bye using a n value.
  21. Actually color isn't the only difference. I believe the 700 typically only can control "X" amount of axes and the 7000 can control up to like 6 or 7. I also believe to get hi-square nc and some of the other high speed functions you have to have the higher end controller.
  22. For 1/4 and 3/8 we define the tool as a .330 flat e.mill. For 1/4 we cut .53 deep at .465 dia., then a pass at .4935 dia. For 3/8 we cut at .608 dia., then a pass at .638 dia. HTH
  23. 1328 rpm 3.2 ipm. No you do not need to taper the holes.
