Mori has there own software, depending on the control you can set it up so you can brows the PC like a harddrive to transfer programs.

I'm sorry if you thought my post was bias I was just expressing how I would feel as a programmer/Shop owner
Infact I dropped Mastercam maintinace at my previous employer, and moved to another CAM, as when I needed help In-house was not there to meet my needs, that was a number of years ago and now that there is now local support (Me ) my customers have told me they appreciate having local support (more so someone in the same timezone than the same city)
The other CAM I replaced Mastercam with has its pros and cons, just like anything else be it tooling, machine tools, or fast-food restaurant
All software company's will have some sort of online help/support, but when you do need onsite support and training there is extra cost involved if you don't have a local reseller.
I have used a few CAM's over the years, They all make parts... some are easer to learn than others, some are less powerful/limiting than others... ALL have bugs and "issues". you tend to get what you pay for like most things in life.
As Tech support I see more problems with Mastercam then most but I don't think I could ever go over to any other cam if I started a shop or went back to work at shop. The "devil you know is better than the devil you don't" analogy comes to mind
I would look at the support and training in your area. Is it worth buying a software if you half to fly someone in from across the country for training or support? A big factor for my territory is every resume has "Mastercam experience" on it as the schools teach it as part of the Apprenticeship program, so even though it is not much some exposure is better than nothing.
I have a lot of customers who have multiple CAM packages, some use them all, others they sit unused as there is no local training.
Also I don't think any other CAM has such a good community for support. Yay emastercam.com
Create letters Make Drafting always available for selection no matter the font.(since it Always applies the Values from Drafting Options)
Remove the "More options Arrow" Just make the window popup with all the options, it is an annoying extra click 99% of the time.

It amazes me what Cimco is capabule of, everytime i get confronted with a probelm I alwas find a way to make it work, such powerful and flexible software
You would have to edit what you have slightly, Remove the "P" as that is a local call on the Haas, teh filename has to match 100% to your files in DNC/NC-Base
This should be all you have to do, you might have to adjust some extensions, or folders subs are stored in if your DNC is set-up wonky.

Try this file, I stripped some junk out and selected to solid faces to reduce re-gen time. on the original file I posted I converted the units to Inch, so file was huge

Did an optirest toolpath to show howmuch better of a path it is, you can turn "use coremill passes" on if you want it to approach form the outside of the stock.

They seem to be hit and miss, I have run many over the years, the ones that run great are bulletproof, hold tenths all day long, others not so much...
I know alot of shops that have them and they run them hard all day every day, never any issues... then there are shops where they sit for months on end.
Does not matter what make/model of machine tool you have they are only as good as your local Service tech
This is due to the "delay" where your simulated Y axis (X+C) changes directions, If you put your part under an optical you can actually see that a simulated "Y" axis will never cut a flat, it is impossible, it will always be convex or concave, the bigger the flat the bigger the deviation, Hold a straight-edge on the flat and look at a light you will see light shine through.
I am Also 1000% sure that if those are wrench flats it will make no difference as the tolerance on a combination wrench is about 0.05 depending on quality of wrench, and if the part has anything to do with "field work or service" chances are the end user will be using a pipe wrench on it

The "External Sub-Programs" Option in DNC-Max works best during drip feeding, when DNC-Max Drips an "M98 1234 L10" it will send program 1234 11 times, Just like if it was running sub calls locally. You can set DNC-Max to send subs form a specific folder, but it will grab it from the $DATA tag by default.
CImco Products are amazingly flexible, just take some playing with and the Help "?" is really helpful. they even provide a fancy "test set" for making sure settings are correct.
If that's the shape your supposed to have it looks fine, if the 2d Geometry is unrolled on your drawing the toolpath is wrong. you need to doublecheck your print if the dimensions are "topview" or Unrolled.
There is a big difference in rolling/unrolling Geometry and Projecting onto surface.
Using Rolldie will give you walls that point to center of rotation, using axis sub on a toolpath will give you straight walls. Use the appropriate function to achieve the result you are after.
You have to create a "new bottom" and "new back" plane, the easiest way is to use rotated planes. Mastercam sees the default Bottom, Back, and Left Planes looking through the part.
You don't have to use "Rotary axis positioning", setting WCS=Top > Tool Plane="New Bottom" > Comp Plane="New Bottom" will result in A axis positioning of 180 when you post.
Most professional software's do not support SLI/Crossfire, for the most part these are for gaming... of the top of my head 3ds max does but only during playback
I have no issues with the 2000M in my laptop but... 4000 is better.. anything more you wont see much increase in Mcam as we don't deal with surface textures that 3D animators use.
