  1. Tony, love the Morpheus insert, perfect! Lmao
  2. We may have an opportunity to purchase one of these used on the cheaper end of the scale and looking for feed back. It has Fanuc control, and thats all I really know about it. Anyone have any experience with these, or know what they sold for new? Any feed back on issues, parts availability, etc. would be appreciated, Thanks.
  3. Taking Delivery first week in may , dual Tsudakoma 4th axis on each pallet! We will post more pics when it arrives!
  4. Bison used here as well. Additionally, opt. For the forged steel ones vs the semi steel as we have broke a few in the past and have yet to do that to the forged ones.
  5. To be totally honest, I haven't used this method. I just recently got this video sent to me, thought it applied to the topic, and so forwarded it on. Once we post a program and it is proven out on the machine, we save those to a different server dedicated to know production jobs. I don't keep NC files just posted from MC, there is always something set-up wise or such that we add in the program after the fact. I will inform my reseller of this, and see what they have to say and get back to you.
  6. No problem guys, that's what this forum is here for. I've learned a lot along the way as well.
  7. Maybe this is what your looking to do, this is from our reseller, Cimquest.
  8. FNMI that's good info to know! I'm not real fond of a separate control box to be programmed, we already do that with a older SMW 4th. So the box reads M codes from the program then?, and is connected to the control via rs232 port? We have a ton of indexes in each part, then that would be multiplied x 8 in this set-up. What are your thoughts now that you have a macro for this, just as easy as A/C calls in a normal program?
  9. Thanks Ron, I hoped you would reply being they are in your neck of the woods. With the exception of our Haas, all our 5ax products are ran on Komo tables. We are just curious of the quality/ repeatability of these, aside from tight tol. Bores, locations are .001/.002 and wanted to make sure it could handle that. A KME rep is stopping with our Doosan guy on Tuesday to give us some info. We are looking to add this soon if all looks good, we would be putting the tombstone in a Doosan HP series Horizontal.
  10. Does anyone here have experience with these or any KME products? We are currently looking to upgrade our production needs by adding a Horizontal with a 5ax tombstone to increase productivity. Any input on quality or longevity of these would be greatly appreciated.
  11. If it is in fact a way lube system, you can use UV oil dye and a black light to find your leak. This is compatible with oils and can be found at Summit racing or most major auto chains. Still would not be my first step in sourcing the leak, as I am not a huge fan of adding anything to a system other than the specified oils. But we have done this and it does work. Good luck.
  12. We recently purchased a DNM400(about 1 year ago) and were looking at a Makino as well. Price was a driving factor as well, we are extremely happy with the Doosan and surface finishes and speed are awesome. That being said we do not do Mold work in the plastics world, just patterns for our castings. Even so, they require no polishing as the finish is that good. We did opt. for the 31 control for many reasons, and we run a lot of 5ax stuff. I believe our main driving factor was the Z travel over the 5th, with the Makino it just limited our capabilities. That being said, I would have gone with the Makino had it fit our part envelope because they are that much better. Another driving factor was we are mainly a doosan shop, so for operator and programmer ease it was a no brainer when we could be up and running in no time. You can't go wrong with either, if you need a bit better machine leaning towards mold making then the makino, if its just parts, the Doosan will handle it. We have a DMV 4020ls that has been pounding parts for 6 plus years at 16 hrs a day, never let's me down. Just recently the only real part we had to replace was the collet for the pull stud, but that's a wear item. Good luck with either.
  13. http://www.iscar.com/eCatalog/Family.aspx?fnum=2209&mapp=ML&app=57&GFSTYP=M I've never used them, but maybe worth looking at. Seems to be what you are looking for.
  14. Foghorn, excellent system you will love it. You already have the system but be aware you can actually run the faster 1600 ram and have faster times as well. I assume your running 32 at 1333. I just upgraded my M6600 to 20gb of 1600, and I believe I could still go higher, maybe even to 32. Dell states 16 at 1600 or 32 at 1333, which is not true, and my rig is much faster than before on the 1333. Just my 2c, enjoy the new laptop and sorry for the loss of the old.
  15. Ron, that would be great, I really appreciate any effort. Marshal/FNMI, how much maintainance have your systems required, I see the relitive cost varies considerably pending on the unit. Thanks for all the input on these as this is a new territory for us and want to make sure we head down the right path the first time. We are currently looking at about 15,000+ pcs annually, not sure if thats a lot or not much, either way good addition to what we do.
  16. Marshal, what type are you running? We have been looking at a fiber type. Looked to be around the 40 mark.
  17. Looking into purchasing a system and wanted to see if anyone here has one at thier shop. Just curious on any recommended brands or do's and dont's. The parts will mainly be Hard Coat anodized Aluminum and Brass, mostly engraving on round cylinder type stuff. Nothing real fancy, just part numbers and un-complicated logo's for some of our customers. Any feed back welcome.
  18. The G92 cycle needs the depth per pass written in each line, unlike a G76 cycle. The Q value will not work in G92. After your G92 the x value should be the top of your thread, then in following lines depth of cut, G92 x92.3 z-.80.f8. X91.3 X90.3 X89.3 Etc. X82.3 Hope that helps.
  19. . Jay, buy a docking station as I did. Then you don't have to plug-unplug ever time.
  20. Jay, nope still using the one that you have to plug in. If it ever die's, I'll buy a wireless one. My main concern is that the wire will break from winding and unwinding it to pack it up, been going strong though for 3 years.
  21. . Explain, mine works great. That said, I still use the space mouse most of the time..
  22. Jay, I use the portable one because I travel back and forth with my laptop. I would have bought a wireless 3d space mouse as well, had they been available at that time. Also glad to see others putting in hours on a weekend. Its a great thing to be busy!
  23. Left hand: 3Dconnection, absolutely! Its kinda like my morning cup of coffee, I wouldn't function without it! These great tools make you spoiled, and wonder how you got by before them.
  24. Not sure what you guys are using for your mouse, but I thought I would pass along my renewed excitement. We recently purchased Solidworks and I'm busy setting this up for ease of use. For those looking for a great upgrade look at the Logitech anywhere MX. I find myself using less and less of the keyboard on MC and SW.
