  1. It would be a great marketing tool for both Mcam and the tool manufacturers. if the included tool libraries are setup with mfg's recommended cutting data and tool order information it would be a great selling point for both!
  2. For milling I use a combination of "Helical's Milling Adviser" AND "FSWIZARD" (the online version). For most other applications (drilling, reaming, etc) i use a software called "CutData"
  3. where I work. we generally are a one-off Aerospace design and build shop. on any given day I could be programming on parts made of aluminum, 15-5 stainless, 304 stainless, A286, Inconel 625, and any other concoction they can throw at us. so it isn't practical (for me) to set a tool library based on materials. I use the speed calculator occasionally, but I have found that it is very limited compared to others available on the internet. It would be great if Mcam could update this feature. until then I will use a third party software.
  4. Yes I Have Had That Happen. I Didn't Use Migration. Just Updated Machine Defs, Posts, Tool Libraries. It Worked Great For A Day Or Two. Then It Crash EverytIme It Opened. i unInstalled. Then Removed Registry Keys and Renamed Mcamx7 To Backup. Then I Reinstalled And It Seems To Be Working Now.
  5. Is your post set up to support acramatic helical output?
  6. Try changing your motion>gap size retract option to "when avoiding a boundary"
  7. Have you tried selecting stock model as a previous OP? It seems to work well for me.
  8. Ok that might not be the same problem, the problem I had went away around 100 ipm. Hopefully some of the more experienced Mastercam guys can be of more assistance.
  9. Have you tried running it at slower feedrates? i had a similar problem on a Mazak Variaxis. at higher feedrates would undercut posts and gouge walls. When it was ran at slower feedrates, everything was fine. it had something to do with the machine dynamics.
  10. Excellent post Rotary. I would like to see more programming tips. It seems everybody has a different way of doing things. I learn something new or at least a different approach every time I look at the forums.
  11. "Don't believe everything you read on the internet" - Abraham Lincoln

  12. i would like the ability to lock on WCS in view manager for rotary programming.
  13. thanks for the response. the only problem with changing the machine settings is that we have thousands of other programs that those machines run. At my shop Mastercam is treated like the red headed step child and catia is the beautiful princess. I am trying to give Mastercam a fair chance and get the posts ready.
  14. I have a problem getting my post to output Incremental depth for my A2100 controller. i need the Z value in my drill cycles to be incremental from the R-plane. How do i do this?
  15. Any luck with this? i would love to an options for other sizes besides .010 dia. wire for FA-S tech. i use .012 wire for almost everything, and there arent any tech files for .012
  16. i know this is a little late but there is a parameter to turn off the movement. we have a variaxis in our shop and we have turned it off. not sure of the exact one but i believe it is F87, check your parameter books
  17. When transforming my tool path about a rotary axis the stock model only shows the initial path, not the transformed tool paths. Is there any way i can get it to show the transformed cuts?
  18. I am trying to find a better way to document changes made to programs on the shop floor. Ideally, these changes will be forwarded to the programmer so he can update his files. this way it can be posted to other machines with out re-inventing the wheel. Does anybody have a form to record these changes?
