  1. I've been asked to mill a profile in powder metal. I've done a lot of research on cutting PM. You know, the usual, stout machines, smooth motions etc.etc. However, I have not found any helpful information on milling cutters and proper feeds and speeds. Does anyone have anny expierence in milling PM they are willing to share? Thanks
  2. It seems since I went to MR1 SP1 whenever I verify a model and then try to dave the stl it crashes. I have yet to save a stl model after verifing without it crashing. What do I need to do? Thanks
  3. Found the culprit, I have X2 MR1 SP1 and co-worker has X2 SP1. Could not read updated MD and CD from X2 MR1 SP1. Thanks for your input
  4. I'm stumped. Started a new machine definition on another PC and will not post to the editor. The loading bar goes across and says it succesfully posted but the editor does not pop up. What do I need to do. Thanks

  6. Rhino Converted into a Parasolid. It will not come in clean if just a version 2 Rhino file.
  7. I analyzed my imported model and got a lot of this error The Enity, Usally Goemetric, Is Invalid. What on earth deos this mean. Is there a list of definitions for cad import errors somewhere? Thanks

  9. I did a search for this, could not find what I'm looking for and I'm pretty sure I have seen this before. When you are posting code is there an editor and or switch that puts in the post variable associated with that line? I must be dreamming but I thought it was real.
  10. I have a Anilam 3000 and would like to modify the post to accomadate tapping cycles. It does everything just fine but will not code tapping cycles. I need the code to look like the following. TAPPING ZDEPTH -1.0 START HGT 0.100 TPI OR LEAD 20.000 SYNCSPIN YES Anyone with experiece with Anilam tapping? Thanks

  13. When backplotting my ribbon bar shows up but not the dialog settings box. I did a search on this thinking that others might have had this problem. I did not find anything. Where did my dialog box go? Maybe I should get my eyes checked?
  14. Duh, I think I figured it out. I needed to right click in the Axis cobinations box and select new. That did the trick.. Thanks
  15. Well I did notice that In the machine definition Manager dialog box and click on the machine Axis Cobinations box it comes up completly blank and I cannot do anything with it.
  16. I'm trying to create a new machine definition. When I go to save this definition it keeps giving this error message, "This machine does not have any valid axis combinations defined and connot be used in a toolpath." When I click on the OK button it gives me the machine definition page, but I dont want a old one I want to create a new one. What am I doing wrong? Thanks

  18. I get this message when I post out. "Write NC Operation Information Must Be Enabled in Control Definition" I went into Control Definition and toggle it on and I still get this error mesage. What gives? Thanks

  20. Thanks John, That did the trick. Now one more question. How do I get a safe block on every tool change?
  21. OK I have the M6 T1 moved around, now I need to change my safe line and add a G53 Z0. How do I go about it? Do I just force the commet by putting in G53 Z0 on both the psof$ and ptlchg$ Thanks
