No, I have the minimum distance travle check box on. How about the in the cut Parameters Box the keep tool down within box. do you use % of tool diamter which defaulted to 2099% of a 3/8" diameter cutter.
I have had this happen several times I don't know what the answer is so here goes.
I'm doing a High speed area clearance tool path. In verify it looks great. when i machined the part it went right through the wall. I suspected that it might be in my CD under arcs "break at quadrants" but that does not seem to be it. It appears to helixing in but outside the wall.
Has anyone expericed this also?

I'm trying to rotate my A axis 90.0 using rotate planes while in the Top wcs I rotated axis 90.0. go to WCS manager make current view Top and my 90.0 Construction and tool plane active.
What happens is the C and T always go back to Top and can't seem to make the C and T stick on A90.
Thanks in Advance
I'm doing a 3D coutour path and have no problem picking the up 3D coutour. But when I go to picking the lines from geometry there are lines that it just will not click or window around. Acts if it is not there.
Oh yeah X4 MU3
Thanks in advance.
Try going to Create -> Curves -> Curves on all edges.
Pick the surface you need to chain, you may need to use solid chain, this will create geometry for your pocket. Then machine and use the curve you just created to chain for your pocket routine.
I've a little hic-up with this part. Machined one side just fine.
Trying to machine the other side, the clearance start's on the bottom of the part the feeds to above the part, or Top before machining. What type of tool plane do I need to do to get the right tool Path?
Thanks
I have a file uploaded ont he FTP site in the X4 folder called Crossheadnonose.mcx.
I'm have trouble attaching this toolpath. Keeps going into the checked surfaces and not sure why.
Thanks in advance.

I'm doing a simple cam type part. Using rotary 4th axis,Rotary cut, Climb, One way. It gouges the part in verify. But it does not gouge in Zig Zag direction of cut. Is there a Verify setting I'm missing? Or is rotary, one way just not a good idea. I want to keep my tool loaded in one direction.
Thanks in Advance.
Can you make geometry of your Milling center and use it for collision verification?
We just purchased a 4th rotary and will be doing prototyping and the ram of the machine tool will come close to the rotary at times.
Thanks in advance.
When opening Inventor put your X4 disk in and Inventor will fix itself. It seems whem loading MU3 MasterCam replaces a .DLL file that Inventor used/needs. Inventor will then take the needed file off your disk and will run fine.
We use them exclusivly on all our A81 machine tool pallet tracks. Holding 700 pound fixtures in a vertical positon on a toumbstone, then do Heavy milling too.
Great Product. I don't think they will mow the lawn though.
I have a solid model with a helix on it. Want to attach a tool path to it. I'm pretty green at the 4 axis stuff, but using the 45 axis tutorial it says I need to create a line and contour useing y axis substitution. I get models from our engineering department and would like to be able to use the model if possible.

Yes you can slow down rapid. Down in the lower right hand corner there is an FD over up and down arrows. Use your up and down arrows to slow rapid down.
Single bock is #2 on your Auto screen.
We have several ez-traks here and if you program in MasterCam alpha mames will be posted with MasterCam. No need for a keyboard. However you can mount a keyboard and plug it in to back of controller.
No need to worry about Z moves. Your ez trak reconizes a Z move and will stop and you can adjust your z and hit cycle start again.
