I try to do my homework ....
Here is a link to a place that supposedly sells rim blanks in Kalifornia as teh Govoner would say...

I believe that some wheel manufactures follow the (Japanese Automotive standard)which includes: Radial load testing, side test, tortion testing, and impact testing.
Chrome wheels are also exposed to salt test for warranty on the finish.

HOW DO YOU ENABLE THE POST, SO IT ADDS THE RADIUS OF THE ROTARY DIAMETER TO THE Z POSITION? If you are programming from the center of your rotab, your 'Z' numbers that post out should be right.
It's a whole different thing when drawing in Catia V5.
Personally,I hate it.
But that is just teh left side of my brain saying this because my right side loves Mastercam.
The learning curve IMO,is huge.
We use it to program our 5ax Mitsu laser.
And we still suck at it....
Here is a link to a user forum.
Nothing compared to this place.
V5 forum
When I upgraded to V9 (a long while back) I tried the update post tool and did not like the results.
I ended up starting with new V9 posts and had to go ahead and tweak them all over to our likings.
It was a pain, but well worth it.
Thanks guys.
Steve,I just tried the dxf thing, but the same result.
I am a little bit busy today, and I just had to work around it for now.
I would like to email you the file, just to see if you can find anything.
I will have to send it in a little bit when I free up.
Thanks
I did do a search and with no luck didn't get my answer.
I am running a 2D lathe part that was converted from autocad lt.
When I run my toolpath,I keep getting the "there are overlapping entities in the chained geometry"
But If I analize chain, there is nothing there!
I even tried the findovlp.dll chook, and it finds no overlapping entities!!
WTF
has anyone had this happen before?
V9.1 maint.
Thanks
This is a good idea, and i do this too sometimes.
It's like cheating,but who cares?
Gotta do what ya gotta do.
BTW,i created you your tube.
It is on ftp in the mc9 files folder called: tube.mc9
Now don't tell me you cant get on the ftp!!!
You have to be a little more specefic.
I'm going to have to use my psychic energy and guess that your part keeps coming out shorter and shorter. Right?
When something like this happens, the first thing I would check,is to make shure at the end of each tool, you are cancelling any X or Z offset.
Otherwise,it will start to multiply and your parts will keep changing in size.
This is done on your Mori like this:
Say you are using tool# 1
Then you need to put a line in after the tool goes home:
I/E
X-10.538 Z5.269 (tool goes home G50#)
T0100 (00 cancels out any offset)
M30 (program rewind)
%
quote:
However, I make sure the light on the X and Z light up before I Reset the Program. You should have an M30 at the end of your program.
It sounds to me like you are re-setting it yourself.
Again I am just using my psychic powers and quessing.....
Good luck
Assuming that I'm right on what you are trying to do.
It sounds to me that you want to take another .100 off your part.
The right way to do this would be to change the Z value in your code.
The quick way to do it at the machine would be to put the value in your height offset, and then run the tool again.
But this is not the safe way.
