  1. I don't think that the webmaster wants price discussion on the forum. You may find this covered in FAQ'S Best to ask re-seller
  2. Nothing for nothing, but I tend to believe the "Dream Team" wrote that 10 page license!
  3. Cherokeechief79/DrewG, The guys here are very helpful and love to share their knowledge. It is very difficult and takes a lot of time to switch over cam systems. I too had to do it,so I know how it can be frustrating. Also these guys have also used other cam systems, and like myself, are very "partial" to using mastercam. We are here cause we love mastercam (at least I do). So comparing mcam to others on this forum seems to not go over too good. Sure it has some faults, but it is continually becoming a better and better system. Everyone and his brother would love to know all about "custom post writing". This in my opinion,is another whole ballgame, and there are few who can make a post do anything they want. As some of the other members pointed out,for what you want it to do,you may just have to pay someone.(big deal) A lot of the answers given here are mostly simple fixes. In your case,I wouldn't exactly call yours a simple fix. You really need to sit down with someone and go through the whole post so you can have it do exactly what you want it to do. And don't let him leave till you are happy with it! Please disregard any negative posts that came to be on this thread. These guys are good guys!Believe me. As I stated, some are very partial to mastercam. James' is a very helpful guy. I don't think calling each other names makes it any better. Hopefully it can all be forgotten
  4. I too really enjoy this well respected professionaly managed forum. And to all the people who help share their knowledge! Hi Jack
  5. I can see it now...... My boat will never get a chance to leave the dock this summer! Plus I drive a dodge 2500 V10..... Ooh Well
  6. I was just curious what others are paying a gallon for regular unleaded gas. In Mass. about $1.70 I know that there are others from outside of USA and I would be curious as to what you pay also,in US currency.
  7. I havn't been back to this thread for a few days but, WOW............... I aint saying nothing!!!!!
  8. Now if we could just get the liberal people to agree on "HANGING" the abductor in the city street @ 12:00 high noon...... People like this crepe don't belong in jail, they belong dead! How could anyone have mercy on a piece of crap like him? I would have no problem wearing that black executioners hood. Sorry, but we should not have to put up with this in todays society. It is just wonderful that she is alive! Never give up hope.
  9. I have never heard of "quick part". Could someone please explain what it does?
  10. No offense taken Jeff. I figured that it was misunderstood by the way I worded it! Anyone who sets his tools for a job set up and just "lets them go" is a moron. (IMO)
  11. Jeff, I am not talking about hitting the "dry run" button! I am talking about (cycling thru)the program, maybe above or away from the part. If there is a "funky move" in the program, this is where you are apt to catch it.Not after the fact! It sounded to me that chris'"crash" happened on the tool aproaching the stock. On aproach,I always single block and turn rapid down, then watch distance to go on pos. screen. If you program .100 away, and it says you got 1.250 dis. go,well you better check your tool setting or something! These are the things I am talking about. Perhaps I shouldn't have used the term "dry run".
  12. Hey Thad, If you ever used Teksoft ProCam "98" you would be begging for toolpath associativity. You would have to erase or put onto a diff. layer, your toolpath, chain, and geometry when making a change to your part. This is a real pain to have to do. Also your toolpath is on a layer, your chain is on a layer, your geom. is on a layer. In Teksoft,if you put your chain on the same layer as your geom. and then had to add a fillet or something you would have to erase the chain which would also erase your geometry. In mastercam, tell me what layer your chain and toolpath are on? Thats right ....none. Just the way it should be.
  13. Hey Chris, Just curious, was it because of a program error on your part,or he set his (tool/offset) wrong? If it is a brand new program, the operator should at least give you the benefit of utilizing that rapid overide switch! Any time that I ever got cocky on setting up a job,you got it....CRASH! I also learned that when the little voice inside your head asks if you remembered to set your tool just as it is approaching the stock..... LISTEN to it!! (I swear by this one) Sometimes it is of great benefit for the operator to dry run the program,in the long run it can save a lot of $$ It happens to the best of us Chris!
  14. Another one that i found is at www.excaliburcnc.com You can download a trial version "cut viewer". It is a "G" code simulated backplotter that you can take actual Dim's on after backplotting the file. Cost is about 400.00 bucks. They also have one for lathe too. Worth trying for free!
  15. Hi Philcott, My wife usually can find some discounts if you are a member of AAA . I just got back from fort meyers beach myself, after spending 11 days there. 80 to 85 deg. everyday! Don't forget to stay for the fireworks display at Epcot center. They are the best.
  16. Hey Tazzer, I just recently found this site. I downloaded a trial version of their mill/lathe simulator. It is very cool! I think it may be a German company. http://www.mts-cnc.com/espanol/sd5e.htm Ps. dont let the "espanol" in the url discourage you.(it's not in spanish) The software can be "downloaded" in many diff. languages.
  17. We bought a centroid control that we use on a louver punching machine, that has mill level 1 installed on it.
  18. Hey cuttingedge, one thing you will find as I did the hard way is that you dealer will be of great help, providing that you are "current" on your maintenance plan..... no pun intended

    A2 Steel

If you are talking about A2 tool steel I have cut it and did not have any problems with it. What type of machining do you have to do to it? Mill,Turn,Drill? I have some decent surface footage setings if you need James.
  20. Ya know Marc, that is a rotton thing to say to a fairly new member. Just because he has a hotmail account don't make him a pirate! Many people (including myself) use more than 1 account.Just so happens to be free. Also some people do not want to use their primary account because of fear of SPAM sent to them. This forum was started for mastercam users to share their knowledge with each other. If there is a question on cuttingedges'being a liscensed user, than this is what the webmaster's job is to verify his sim # just like they did to me! I am not trying to start any problems, but when I read stuff like you wrote, I will not keep quiet! Give the guy the benefit of the doubt. I could care less what the name of his company is. Obviously not everyone is getting the impression that he is a non liscensed member as you suggested as I would not be writing on this thread! So maybe you should re-phrase yourself to not include me as the (everyone). Just because a person works out of his garage does not mean he is non liscensed. This is a very touchy subject for me because I myself was asked for my sim # on a premise from some nit wit who basically accused me of not having a liscense! I promptly sent my sim # to dave (webbie) How will you feel if he is asked (like I was) and produces it. Then he will probably not even want to stick around! Not only that,he states that he is using V8. One knows that V9 is already hacked!
  21. I don't care what anyone says....... I believe that idiot Osama got killed at Tora Bora. I just think that he would be showing his face on video if he was alive. All his goons want people to think he is still alive to try to keep the fear (that's not working)in people. That's why they had to resort to audio tape. I will eat these words if I am wrong.
  22. We use Tsudakoma rotabs. 15" table dia's. they work very well. Cost new for one this big is about $18,000.00 Not cheap!
  23. Economic depressions is right! Ya... what ever did happed to this idiot? Maybe they just quietly killed him and burried him in their yard.
