Rekd,
I had a ver 8 post for a fanuc21i that did that.
I'd send it to you but apparently Im not allowed
to access my backup dir. any more. frickin I.T.
geeks turned me off again. You could probably
code it before I get access again. As I recall
it didnt take that long.

Take James up on his offer you will
be much farther ahead with a proven post.
Turning look ahead off at the wrong time
can reek havoc on a machine.
I have a met. green 74 h1 and a purple 72 h2
I wouldnt sell them or my hard tail sporty.
Its just too much fun when you pull next to a kid
on crouchrocket.
With Cals emission laws can you ride a big
2stroke without getting a ticket.
Fred teh let them eat smoke.
CAMmando, hit every nail on its documented head.
you have profound knowledge. 1000 kudos
If youve had input in the system, working in it
is not the problem. working outside it is.
You might find if you make it a dog and pony show. then your not doing it correctly, youll see no benefit, then thers nosense in the audit or the registration,
If you use it correctly, there are many benefits you probably would like, increased workflow, reduced setup time, lower scrap rate.
to name a few.
Chris,
I have a similar job (sept I have to ream it to)that I run alot.
I use a solid carbide drill #37 drill @1800 rpm
1.8 ipm peck .02 and flood the coolant straight
down the hole. its better with through the spindle but I dont have it.
What your looking for is a raster to vecter
converter ther is one in the engrave package
called ras2vec or you could use adobe streamline
Im not sure of the cost, if its adobe its probably pricey.
Its just my opinion but I think this would be a
Quality issue, You should look for documentation
in your quality system. and let QC and Eng.
hash it out.
I don't think its acad, I believe designers not
bothering to check ther own work. (just so busy)
(just to lazy) are the problem. I always have this problem. so I let'em know upfront the time
they saved themselfs will be used by me to redraw
ther work.
depending on the machine m29 causes the z feed
and spindle speed to sync. not clearing it with
m2, m30, or m28 can cause problems with later OPs. nothing major it'll sound like its hammering. but Ive never even broke a tool from it.
making chips for 27 years.
started programming nc mills in 1978.
didn't even hear of mastercam till v6.
You cant be in this business that long
and not love making a big pile of metal chips.
or the sound of highspeed machining.
RStuart
The driver you are looking for is the
HP hpgl/2 plotter. you'll need a serial
cable to interface to your engraver.
Select the windows plotter, and plot to
your engraver. Make sure you select the proper
com port, baud rate, and any other settings the engraver requires. The engraver would be the plotter.
hope this helps
Rekd
I havent tried it on 9.1 but in 7.2 all
you had to do was put the .exe and any dlls
in the mcam dir. and then manualy edit the mcam config to reflect the proper name without the
.exe. you will see when open the config to the
start exit option.
good luck
Fred
You need to set param. 0020 to the device you
want to use. system-param-page down. your probably setup for a memory card.
you have to be in estop to set the parameters.
good luck.
All versions of autocad 12,13,14,2002 have
IGES. auotcad Lt is the only one that doesnt.
if its not in the menu you can command line
autocad, IGESOUT to open the dialog.
The entities in the next time zone are probably
paperspace entities.
Have your vendor try IGESOUT.

Thanks Marc Lindsey,
I hadnt seen your previous post,
interesting reading.
So if I followed that correctly,
If I share a 9 year old obsolete post that we got
for free, and edited to work the way we wanted. with a fellow mastercam user. a legitimate user
as far as I know. I should be taken out and shot?
So much for helping your fellow users.
I am a legitimate user in as much as the company
I work for has 4 seats of mastercam. the webmaster is welcome to verify my sim #
any time he chooses.
As far as getting a post from his reseller I believe he went that route. without a suitable result.
I would like to thank all of you for your support of new members. Thank God and CNC Software for Tech Support.
Ron,
Tooling or production, the same factors apply. speed, feed, amount of stock, vibration.
With the proper tooling and equipment. 58 Rc 440ss can be machined easily. but ther are to many variables to give you an answer.
for .02 and .03 endmills I would think 18000rpm
would be minimum. sorry I couldnt be more help.
Dan,
We Hard turn all kinds of tool steels almost
daily, You need a very rigid setup,
We have good luck with sumitomo borzon tip
inserts BN250, 600-800 sfm, .008 ipr roughing
800-1000 sfm, .002-.004 ipr finish.
doc from .04 rough, .005finish
you cant tell a turned part from a ground one
but the run time is a major improvment.
Hope this helps.
I have to agree with bullines and plasttav
your chance of hitting the right box is very
slim 255 to 1, the last time I pinged that address it was inactive.
you would probably shut down some kid doing ther homework.
Why not focus on it not happining again.
sounds like a better solution.
