  1. no, spindle and speed are on a line. so I can find them easy. m3 s500
  2. I've tapped 5/8-11 in d2,m4,a2,s7 and some alloys. I wont go any bigger becuase its a 12hp motor. it just dont have the torque. The only thing ive done is put a m29 in the post. but I program G95 for my taps so the feed for 11 pitch would be F.0909. The only O# programs are the ones we put in. hope this helps
  3. Have you tried peck tapping? I use it on our 3020 almost daily. it helps with the tougher steels.
  4. Depends on what your machine can do. I would try starting at 300sfm @.001 per tooth .001 step out. and increase from there.
  5. It can also be done from job setup in mastercam in job setup on the right tool registers chose add to and put in what you want it start at.

    shs file

its a Shell Scrap Object File. basicly a script in a wrapper I wont want to run it as its a good way to transport a virus.
  7. MPFAN will pretty much work just like it is. thats were I start for any fanuc. Good luck
  8. Were you trying to use control comp? sometimes that will give strange results. I have a working post I tuned up for our manual hands. If you would like to check it out just let me know.
  9. quess i should type faster
  10. db.ovf should be a 0kb file in the mcamcommontemp dir its a temp database while mcam is running. its telling you it cannot create the file in the location set by config. or it dont have write permission. hope that helps.
  11. Chris, 2dswept and ruled toolpaths are in the wireframe toolpath ops they work with mill1, Ive found them very useful for this type thing. Good luck.
  12. Is there a pcanceldc section in your post? You may need to add one. or make sure its being called.
  13. Try VNECORP.com they should have what you need I use there tools for 3/4-10 2.25 inches deep. in 58Rc A2 fairly reasonable pricing.
  14. Just click ref point in tool parameters page tell it where you want it to go for tool change. I use it for tall setups too.
  15. you'll have to set the parameters to read the rs232 then drip feed it. we use cimco. doesnt your 21I have a card reader? we run almost all our programs from the memory card.
  16. I post to an eztrak every once in a while. use the post off the cd and there are directions in the post for how to use comp. it needs a little tweaking but it works fine.
  17. Thad, Major Gauge, Farmington and Schoolcraft. been hear about 4 years. lots of powdered metal stuff.
  18. That depends on if your programming in abs or inc. in abs it becomes zero, in inc its added to it. so yes and no. it depends on the program. hope this helps.
  19. Compared to the old sporty the differance is huge. the 78 is an ironhead the 04 is an evo. chain versus belt. the 04 has about 30 horses on the 78. the engine shakes like hell at idle but you cant feel it. Ive had it to 90 on the freeway and it was smooth as glass. its the best riding sportster Ive ever been on. it also seems a lot more nimble at slower speeds then the 78. I may have to buy the wife another one.so I can keep riding this one.
  20. So far I have a 78 Sportster Superglide 04 Sportster 72 kaw H1 72 kaw H2 Yamy YZF R1 But the one I ride the most is the 04 sportster I bought for my wife, its a really fun ride. Rekd, Ive noticed if a bike leaks or pukes oil if parts shake off. its usually the owners fault. not the brand. I like all bikes, I cant say the same for owners. The important part of the ride is living to tell about it.
  21. We use it to access cimco dnc for background dnc to our machines daily. its a good feature for one offs.
  22. Chris, I didnt say the other bikes on that show werent fine bikes. I thought Yaffes bike would win. I personely prefer the old style choppers. as long as ther rideable. just my preference. quote: ------------------------------------------------- Speaking of Indian Larry; get out of the '70's guy; Paul Yaffe's bike smoked that hobby-horse Larry built on the Buildoff and lost [again] due to Larry's popularity. ------------------------------------------------- Calling anything Larry built a hobby-horse. Im guessing you dont even ride. and yes both of my bikes are 70's, my sportys got almost 60000 and starts on the first kick (no electric start for me). there probably a reason for Larrys popularity. like he builds bikes to be riden not just to look at. just try and get at the oil filter on Yaffes bike. just my .06
  23. Mayday If you get a chance check out any of the bikes built by Indian Larry those bikes have function and awesome looks, Hes probably the best Ive seen for old school choppers.
  24. Try this to turn on comp. pbld, n, pccdia, e and pccdia should look like this. if prv_cc_pos <> cc_pos & cc_pos, prv_tloffno = c9k sccomp if cc_pos, tloffno you can turn it off at tool change. I do form grinding in my mill so I dont want the offset turning off ether. hope this helps
  25. Im guessing your using XP. If your using a ram disk its getting corrupted. probably by windows. or you have a bad ram segment, try running a though ram test, if the segment is always the same its probably ram. you could try taking out the ram and cleaning the pins very carefully of course. reinstall them in a differant order. see if the segment changes. you would be surprised at what some dust can do.
