  1. Club "60" here, you topped me Mike!
  2. I use Fanuc post for the Haas VFs and Toolroom Mills with very little editing and excellent results for most milling and lettering especially. I did not like the Haas posts that much, but that's my experience thus far.
  3. Chris I modified the Boss9 pst for Bostomatic output and now get the exact code I need. The Bostomatic pst was too far out for me to handle. I was using the Boss 9 pst to get arc formats then editing in the Bmatic formats to get workable code. The Bmatic pst was not outputting G40, Boss 9 was fine. Thank you for those that have responded.
  4. The G41,G42 are normally displayed and active. The control faults at the next toolchange because cutter comp was not canceled.
  5. Close to Newington, Email me, I do not pinpoint location on forum.
  6. Thanks for the response, but my post already has that
  7. Hi all, I am working on modifying a Bostmatic 312 post to work for a Bostomatic 12G. I have contacted my reseller and the post wizard is unavailable today . I have made some changes to the pst that has resulted in closer to desired code. What I still need to do is to have G40 on last linear line enabled. The post currently generates code that tries to toolchange while G41,G42 is active(no G40 posted). I am getting good code when using BPT Boss 9 pst and editing for Bostomatic compatibilaty. Any help here is appreciated.
  8. I started out with pencilcam in 1991 before getting into EzCam 5 later that year.Did Ezcam for 7 years(same ver) and never got into EzCam 9(my recomended purchase in 1997)as it did not come with a printed manual. I took 2 Edgecam classes in college and hated the drawing editor. I started with Mastercam training when I got laid off in Oct 2002 and haven't looked back
  9. Mark, Screen capture is easy. Just press Print Screen key, open Paint, Edit, Paste, then save as bmp or jpg if you have XP
  10. We have 2 Okumas with the OSP 5000 control. The memory in our controls were upgraded to 30KB about 4 years ago. The control does not have an option to run from tape so BTR option is out. Okuma controls are proprietory so any upgrades come from Okuma with hefty price tag. I have to take 1 meg programs and slice them into 30K pieces to fit but worth it for the rigidity the machines have compared to the HAAS VFs we have surrounding them.
  11. So low on the 2003 Cimsoft survey, not worth naming.
  12. Thanks for the link, I'm sure it will come in handy.
  13. We have the Haas SL30 lathe with live tooling and full C axis cap. There is no Y axis and the live tool spindle is rated for med duty: 3/4 endmill or drill in mild steel max. some XY work can be done thru polar to cartesian conversion thru G112 I have yet to do much with it, but even my friend who works at our Haas rep says not to push it.
  14. Brett, I appreciate your stand with Jon Banquer and the "anonymous guest" that I can only surmise is Keui. I check into CNC Gurus on occasion and had more than my fill of Keui's ramblings about warez and whatever.
  15. When in the doghouse, nothing better than roses and a hallmark expressions card. Expressions cards are well worth the extra buck or two.
  16. I ran into the same problem with an NVidiaa MX based adapter when I intalled Mastercam Draft 9.0 SP1 on my computer. My MC reseller suggested setting changes that made no difference. I solved the problem by downloading drivers from Nvidia. The problem was the 3rd party drivers that came with the adapter. I would suggest you download drivers from ATI but be aware ATI adaptors have known problems with MC. I used an ATI Radeon prior to the NVidia and did not have the problem you described.
  17. pip, email and I will send you the file. I created no work axis or work planes to do this. I found the angle of incline at 45 deg by wireframing the outside profile geometry in Mastercam Draft. The angle is 29.805 from vertical.
  18. By the way Jack, what did you lose points on to achieve a 91 ? Modeling or drafting? My instructor deducts 2 pts for every and any modeling or drafting infraction.
  19. Jack, I got the model you sent, went through the history and having found the angle of incline along 45 deg edge, remodeled it in Inventor in less than 5 minutes. 2 in base extrusion, 2 chamfers, two hole center ops, 2 hole ops, and 1 three face shell op made a complete and acurate part
  20. I would like to attend as I live a half hour from the site and would like to meet Steve and Peter from S4A as they are our MC reseller.
  21. I drive 42 miles one way. Takes 45 min in morning, traffic permitting. Takes anywhere from an hour to two to get home in eve.
  22. Matt, I am not a Cadkey user ...yet. I am making a commitment to learning V21 as Cadkey is the only software the current team of engrs know. I have had training in MDT,Pro E, and now Inventor so I know the value of a true parametric cad package. I was lucky to get them to purchase Mastercam, engrs wanted UG, money is tight now. The engrs that want UG have no clue as to what they would be up against
  23. Hi Jack, I sent you an Inventor file for the bracket. I think I came as close as you did judging from your latest pic. I was not happy with the results I got on the 1.00 dia hole on the 45 deg face. I got the 1.625 from the base up but should have created some kind of const. geom. to position the hole lateraly so mine is pasted by eye Hope everyone else has fun also
  24. Our company uses Cadkey 19 and 21.0, while I am still the lone guy progging and doing shop prints in Mastercam. I just finished a course in Autodesk Inventor and found it very capable in modeling and drafting. I put the bug to the autodesk salesperson pursing us to get us to move to Inventor , they would need to include a UG translator like Cadkey 21 does before we would even consider it. I feel Solidworks would be a better choice for us and most others.
  25. I was furious about 2 months ago when on the front page of the Hartford courant was a large, bold feature article about the inability of the children of illegal immigrants to recieve financial aid to attend CT state colleges. As a 7+ generation citizen, my daughter barely qualifies for student loans with honor roll grades from high school. Why would the child of an illegal think they are entitled to fully paid tuition to become a plastic surgeon is beyond me. Why the Courant chose to feature this article on page 1 of the Sunday paper still baffles me to this day.
