THANK YOU RIVA-TNT II
Great card,no crashes, the only problem i noticed are the the white boxes(where i should type numbers, like feed rate or spindle speed or any other "white box",while typing,i can't see the number at all, only when i leave the box,i can see the numbers, but while typing,i can't see it,it's black.
I have this bug since i started to work with NT 4.0 Workstation.(there was no problem under Windows 98),but i guess i got used to this bug.
I tried to set the work offsets to 0, but in few operations the work offset was grey, and i couldn't change it!
anyone knows why?
Thanks,

I had to convert a solid to sat.
After using "write file" in the sat convertor,i tried to open it in mastercam, using "read file",and i got the message : PARASOLID® Kernel interface fault
error RTTODS-disjoint shell.
why??
Changing force_wcs to "no" doesn't solve the problem.
You can try to set "work offset" (in the t/c plane) to 0 in all the operations.
I tried it,and when posting,i got the message : "work offset number used in more then 1 view", but the gcode looks good, and it use G54 at all the operations.
I didn't try this on the machine, but i think it can work fine.
let me know if it works for you
When I get a new tool,If the filter is active,i see no tools.
I have to cancel the filter, and then i get the list of all the tools in the library.
it is since i installed the new mill patch.
Hi,
I experienced a serious problem with the subprograms :
After sending the program to the machine,i had to do a simple contour and after that few holes.
I made the contour with no problem, and when the machine had to do the drilling,i got an alarm message.
After chacking the gcode,i found out that the drilling subprogram is the same subprogram of the contour (it tried to use G42 for drill ).
and here is my problem :
I'm sure it's not a problem with my post! i always use subprograms, and i had this problem twice!
After restarting the computer, and making gcode again, the problem was gone!
What's going on here??
In my opinion,it is not a very good idea to use WIN-ME at all.
I had a lot of crashes, when using it.
Win-ME suppose to give you more enterteiment and microsoft developed the plug&play, and some other things that good for playing games.
I also had some problems with win98.(not as mouch has i had in ME).
Now i'm using NT workstation.and it works great.no crashes at all.
If you'll activate the "finish" ,you will be able to use cutter comp.
and if you don't want any finish passes after the rough pocket,i suppose you don't need cutter comp.
as far as i know, cutter comp. works only with contour.
in backplot and verify, i can see only the x,y,z coordinates.
Is there a way to see the 4th and the 5th axis coordinates too?? I need it when using multi axis.
Thanks,
I changed the tool number in the parameters window untill now and i had that problem, but after trying what you suggested i found out that it works just fine.
Thanks,
Elad.

I set the dia. and the len. offset in the configurations to length:1 diameter:20(if i use tool 1,the dia. offset is 21).
(gcode:TOOL-1 D-21 H-1 DIA.)
anyway, i noticed that if i use the same tool for few operations, and then i decide to change the tool's number, i get "changing tool will update your operations, continue?"
and when i click yes,all the operations that using this tool will update.
The problem is that the dim. offset and the len. offset are updating only at the first operation, and all the other operations stays like it was before i changed the tool's number.
is there a way to make mastercam update not only the operations tool's number, but also the dim. offset and the len. offset??
thanks,

I think ranger ment that he has problem converting the slddrw and not the sldprt.
when i'm converting drawing in dxf,i get all
the details accept the arrows(!).it's hard to understand dim without the arrows.
why when coverting from dxf, mastercam lose this details??
