I could not sent cad data but I attached a file with one operation which has the settings we use all the time that gives us the smooth finish we need on our molds.Keep in mind the more complicated the part the longer the program
we cut 3d molds all the time in aluminium, with sliders set all the way to right on our hass machines. We found that sometimes in dnc mode the machine would use up program faster than being sent which caused machine to wait for program.Found out is was baud rates not the same.WE also found that if feed rates to fast machine servos had hard time keeping up(not high speed machine).I think that when sliders are all the way to right it creates a much longer program for machine to keep up if feed rates to fast.
just got in for my shift this morning Thanks for the input guys sounds like circuit board drills are worth looking at.I guess we were going about it wrong.
Hopefully someone can help.We are drilling small holes with a 1.5mm end mill held in a collet.Having trouble holding size.We just had a guy in the shop telling us a hydraulic chuck would be better(wont deflect).I have never used one and was wondering if anyone has an opinion on them before we spend the money or is it just the end mill itself(sowa 3 flute)We are drilling 1/8 thick 6061 aluminium
thanks bill I never noticed total offset(checked) comes up by default here.Learn something new every day.Still have a hard time understanding what total offset does but I will try to figure it out.
Has anyone else noticed this. The cutter seems to ignore the boundry even with an adittional offset and .01 stock to leave.I was able to work around it by filling in the holes like the other side but to me the cutter should stay inside when cutter comp is inside
I have to have small stepover, part of mold, finish very important.I also tried making one surface(swept) and could not get it to create what I wanted.I ended up projecting a bunch of lines .001 apart in z, onto surfaces and did contour cuts.
Just wondering if someone could help.Trying to cut surfaces in green which are undercut with a dovetail. Not sure if it is the tool I have created or what but it takes forever to generate the operation.
HI guys. When copying an operation in op manager and picking a different tool the speeds and feeds on the new tool do not change to what they should be.Is this already a known problem.Im using MX7
z should be easy. You should know what the center height is from your table to the center of your rotary. You can touch off your table then put a z offset in your machine control
when running long dnc program on a haas vf3 after about an hour I get an alarm everytime. The program is good so is this a communication issue.Everytime this happens I have to reprogram cut depths where the machine stopped.
