WCS is now the catch all for Tplane, Cplane, Named Views, Work Offsets and more. It's great (once you get used to it). The document listed in the link above is essential.

Faster is better, but the key to HighFeed (HF) is "Faster when it can, Slower when you have to". Even if HF makes it go slower (and sometimes it does) it's important to point out that going slower will be improving his accuracy and tool life. You cant cut fast with a broken tool.
Most times it will knock 15% off the cycle time. But most importantly it provides a more efficent cut. The only other package that does anything like the HF is Vericut and it's not calculating based on Volume, it calculates based on changes of direction. HF does both. BTW Vericut is like 10K.
SolidCam is a product from a German based company. I would push the tech support angle also.
Hope that helps,

If your NCI setting is the same as your file name, it will happen when you rename the .MC9 file. Or if you have it set to the name of the Toolpath Group and you rename the Toolpath Group.
You can check the NCI Default here...
Screen - Config - NC Settings - NCI Path(lower right).

Do you have values in all of the peck parameters? The peck - subsequent peck - clearance ? If those have the right values Mastercam should be doing it with the proper clearance on multiple Z moves.

Iowajim: I stand corrected (again ). I'm new here and still getting used to all the little stuff. Gotta start wearing my glasses to surf the forum .
Brendan: Yea I said that @$$_backwards. I meant that the blue line will show the actual XZ pocition of the theoretical tip. The Nose rad will follow the geometry.
Mike Mattera
It's the nose radius compensating for the theoretical tip of the tool. It would have been good to know this was a lathe part in the initial post! Most likely, if you zoom in on that point in Backplot and turn on "show Path Y" the blue lile representing the tip will be right in line with the part edge.

128 mb is pretty low. should be able to get a 256md chip to bring it up to 384. That's a pretty reasonable number. Try www.crucial.com (probably be about $35-$55). Usually the best prices. They make the memory chips.
I believe virtual memory is not your "real" memory that's being used it's the hard drive space that's being used "like" memory. The error may have something to do with with power saving features of the HD effecting the "Virtual" memory registers.

Im building some new boxes and when I'm done I'll have something left over that I can use for Linux. I wants tu be edumacated also. I just have so many Windows specific applications that I use regularly and so many more that I need to learn (Sworks, "X", NetObject Fusion, etc...), I'm not sure what I'll do with Linux when I get it.

You can put in a Tab to shift to the next column.
"( ", *tloffno, 009, 009, *tlngno, ")", e
9 is the asciit code for a tab.
Maybe I misunderstood what you wanted to to. But it sounded like you were moving data in a column format. Sorry it's not english. It's in a language called MultiPost (MP).
Mike Mattera
You can move thngs to the next column with an ASCII character. Below the 009 is the ascii Horizontal Tab character. Any ascii char can be output. Like if you need to output a # (normally used for comments in the post) you can just say " 35, ".
Although I dont know what some controls will do with the Tab character.
"PART NUMBER = ", spartno, 009, 009, "REV LEVEL = ", srev, e
This is from formatting data in my setup sheet.
Mike Mattera
To be sure you have no syntax errors in the code, you should always send from the control to the PC. You already know the program in the control is a good one. Whe you do finally receive it. be sure it looks the same as it did in the control. Now rename it (O0101) and try to send it back.
Otherwise it can be hard to tell which errors are code and which are communications settings problems.

Greg: I hope you mean the new box for the NEXT release. Because if your taking 3 hours to talk about the one on Ebay, I have only 1 think to say, "GET BACK TO WORK ON X" .
Mike Mattera
So are you in Greece or are you in the USA??? .
Are we supposed to know what city and state that the Greece Central Distric resides
Come On Bud! How is anyone supposed to help with this kind information.

Those are good numbers As Long As He Only Opens 1 Session Of Mastercam At A Time.
If he opens another session. Windows will freak out. 255 + 255 = more memory that he has available and leaves nothing for the OS.
Mike Mattera
You want help and you cant even include your name or an email address? Tell them that if the close the technology dept, they should start teaching a class in Chinese so everyone will be able to communicate with the people making their parts.
Mike Mattera
I wonder if it will cost extra to put it in a box to ship it. That'll be another $6 I'll bet.
I still have that little bubble bag that the sim came in. I wonder how much I can get for that??
Mike Mattera

+10 for Glenn for figuring out the cryptic message with incomplete information. You can tell he's a master of tech support. Learning to read in what's NOT said during the conversation.
