Is there anyway to get the post to add 90 degrees to any C axis moves? All my other coordinates are correct except for when I move in the C axis. The C moves are 90 degrees off.
I'm using the Haas generic 5 axis post in X7
Thanks
Joey
Stay warm
I've had experience with Fryer machines however it wasn't a 5 axis.
We were constantly having spindle problems and the overall customer service was a shade above unacceptable.
I wouldn't get one but that's my own opinion.
Was wondering about the user interface, rigidity, reliability, that sort of stuff. i don't know if you do or not but if you owned your own shop, would you buy one?
thanks
Joey
Evening everyone
We're looking into getting a few new machines and one of the horses in the race is a Matsuura MX-520 5 axis. Anyone out there got any experience they care to share, such as pros and cons or any other info.
Also looking at Makinos also.
Thanks
Joey
Thank you gentlemen. I tried the setting the properties and playing with the MI values. Got the "C" to come in but now my "B" is the negative instead of positive. I'm going to have to play around with it when I get a little free time.

Evening everyone.
I'm having a little bit of an issue. I'm using the Generic Haas VF-TR_Series 5x Mill post in X7 and my "C"axis is posting out 90.0 degrees off (ex. -137.0° should be -47.0°) . Wondering where I fix this. I think its in the machine definition but Im not sure and if it is, I'm unsure how to rotate it accordingly. It's been driving me nuts. Any help would be greatly appriciated.
Thanks
Joey

I want to be able to extract information such as programmer, customer and operation number from the set-up sheet in mastercam and have it come out in the program using the post to extract and automatically insert it into the header of the program.
Is this possible?
Thanks
Joey
Using X7 and the post is just the generic fanuc 3 axis mill.
Hello all
Not sure if this is where this subject belongs or if its even appropriate for this site but I figured I 'd ask being that everyone here is in the manufacturing field. Our purchasing guy is having trouble locating a supplier for some 316L steel. We are in need of 2.00" x 1.00" bar length stock. Any direction anyone can point me in would be of great help and much appriciated.
thanks

Okay, I got a stupid question. I do I find out if I have a nutating of standard 5th axis configuration. I'm filling out a post request and it's asking me what my 5th axis configuration is and I honestly don't know or how to figure it out.
the 5th axis is a Nikken trunnion with B and C axii.
Also if someone could be kind enough to explain the difference, sure would appreciate it.
Thanks folks
Joey
I just started at a new company and they have an old robodrill 5th axis post from 2008. I tried to update the post and create a machine definition and control definition using the update post c-hook with no luck. Can some one point me in the right direction so I can post this out.
I used a generic 5 axis machine to program the part but I am unsure if the code will be correct.
thanks
Joey

Hello all
Got a question. I have a part with a number of various sized holes in it and all of them are at compound angles. My question is how can I create the vector lines for the center of the holes so I can create a toolpath to drill them? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
thanks in advanced
jJoey

I got somethingto post out which looks like what I'm looking for. Now to go out and see if it's right.
Thanks again for the assistance.
