  1. Forgot to mention I'm using the Generic Haas VF-TR_Series 5X Mill post. I don't see where I can limit the rotation to 360.0° but I will keep looking.
  2. Hello all. It's been awhile since I've been on the forum so I hope all is well with everyone. I have a question about unwinding the B-axis. I got a part that I'm holding on a vacuum fixture and I need to unwind the B axis after each pass so the vacuum hose doesn't wrap around the fixture during the operation. I want to do a pass (5 passes in total) and then unwind the hose, then come in and do the next pass. Can anyone tell me how I can achieve this? Is there something in the post I can set to unwind at the end of each pass? The machine I'm doing this on is a Haas Mini mill with a TR110 trunnion. Thanks in advance. Joey
  3. Morning folks, I'm trying to prove out a 5th axis program on a 8055m 5th axis machine. I've never worked with a xxxxor controller before. When the machine is performing the c axis moves, it's "choppy". I noticed there are no inverse feed rates in those lines like there are on a haas 5th axis move. my question is, should there be a inverse feed rate on those lines where there is a simultanuous 5th axis move? Any advise would be very helpful. Thanks Joey
  4. Hello All, I'm trying to use the update post c-hook to update an X-2 post and it's not giving me the option to create the machine definition or the control definition. they are greyed out and I can't select them. Can anyone help me out? Thanks ahead of time. Joey
  5. Has anyone ever machined this stuff? specifically crystallite HF339? I got to do a quote but I don't know how it machines. Thanks Joey
  6. Thanks John Been awhile but I figured it out. Joey
  7. Hello all, I got 3D models from solidworks of a bunch of custom tools we use. I would like to bring them in and use them for my tools when I backplot and verify my toolpaths but I don't know how. Can someone help or do I have to use the dxf/ other layer method? Thanks Joey
  8. Is anyone out there machining glass and using DI water in their coolant?
  9. Jeff I'm told the concentration is alright. I will inquire a little more. Strabe, What kind of materials are you machining? Thanks guys
  10. Afternoon everyone, Has anyone used de-ionized water in their coolant solutions? We got a terrible corrosion problem and someone recommended using DI water. We machine different compositions of glass so we have to be careful of what we use. Do any of you machine glass and if so, what are you using for coolant.
  11. Hello all I just started working for a new company and they just got in a new TR110 Haas trunnion. I'm wondering if anyone has a 3D model of it or know where I can get one, maybe from a website somewhere. thanks ahead of time and it's good to be back programming. Joey
  12. Hello everyine We are having trouble finding a vendor to roll some parts for us and I was wondering if anyone can help out or know a company who can. What we are looking for is someone who has rollers that are 10'-12' in length and 1.5" - 4.0" in diameter for cold form some aluminum parts. any leads would be greatly appriciated. Thanks Joey
  13. Hey mr jay bruner I talked to christy the other day and she said they haven't put x4 on our machines yet but they did update something when they updated the license. Maybe that's where the x4 icon is coming from. I like talking to you throug the forum, at least I don't have to see you. Joey
  14. I would be interested in the answer to that one. going up to 9999.99 degrees sometimes isn't enough
  15. Prof. Reynolds. did you get it working? If you want give me a call and I can see if I can help. I don't think I had any trouble with it for my class. I'll more than happy to come over and bask in your greatness. Joey
  16. Thanks Crazy and Hardmill Crazy, lots of good info. thanks Joey
  17. Morning everyone I got a question on how to ball bar a 5th axis. We got a Haas VF6 with a trunnion on it. We have a Renishaw ball bar. We did the XY palnes but I would really like to do this to the A and B axises as well. Does anyone have any suggestions or is this out of our capabilities with this ballbar? Also, if it is possible, should we correct XY planes before attempting the A & B. I would think so but I'm not sure. Any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks ahead of time. Joey
  18. sorry, I didn't mean anything by it. I'm sure that wasn't his intention. I know there have been times where people come in andjust ask for a post and they get jumped on. my apologies Hawkman
  19. asking questions here is about your best resource but please don't ask for a post itself. you will find that just about any question you got can be answered here. Joey PS welcome to the forum
  20. How does windows 7 run with solidworks 2009? I'm pondering switching but I want to make sure mastercam and solidworks will run alright. Thanks Joey
  21. I feel that once the machine is ball barred, our problem will go away but I need to do all my homework and cover all the bases. I agree but there is a big pissing contest on who "owns" the calibration process and responsibility is treated like the plague. Not a day goes by around here that we don't shoot ourselves in the foot. thanks for your input. Joey
  22. Hello all I have been asked to check on the reliability and repeatability of our Haas 5th axis trunnion machine. I have called Haas but I thought I would ask here to get an idea of what others are experiencing. I'm having an issue with concentricity between two bores on a part +/- .001. I'm rotating the part to machine the bores and can't seem to hold the tolerance. I'm pretty sure it's the machine. I was asked to make sure the machine is capable (which I think it is) but the machine hasn't been calibrated in at least 5 years. I think it's out of calibration. I was wondering what others (you all) think of the situation. Any comments would be appriciated. Thanks ahead of time. Joey
