Hello All
Does anyone know where I can find a chart of different thread sizes with their pre-plate dimensions. I can't really find anything on the net. Anything would be handy.
thanks
Joey
I normally use geometry or solid faces. I've only used G view when I really wasn't concerned what angle I was at, I just wanted to rotate the part around so I could clean up a corner or a surface.

I'd like to know how you make out with this. We got a thermwood 5th axis. Last time I talked to Vericut about a thermwood 5th axis simulation they didn't have anything madeup. This was a couple of years ago. I talked to Vericut and they sent me a control and thermwood sent me a model of the head and I had to model up the rest of the machine in Vericut. I got about 60% done and haven't had a chance to finish the job. I'm curious to see if they got one that they have modeled up or not since then. It would be nice to finally be able to run those jobs in vericut.

Hello everyone,
It's been awhile since I last visited, I hope all is well with everyone.
Here's my question.
We're using "X" and would like to lock some levels so we can't accidently delete anything on that particular level. Is there a way to do this?
Thanks ahead of time.
Joey
Has anyone used thrillers (drill tap)? If so can you share on how well they work or don't work. I'm looking into using them but I don't know anything about them.
Thanks
Joey
Morning folks,
An engineer brought over a tungsten part yesterday that they need programmed. Programming it isn't the problem, machining it is.
Can anyone give some pointers on machining tungsten? I've never machined it before.
Thanks ahead of time.

Thanks for the quick response.
I also don't have any confidence in the backplot time.
I ran my code through Vericut and on some parts the time came out alot lower than Mastercam and other parts came out pretty close. Maybe it depends on the complexity of the part.
As for the Storkman's counting ability, I can't say much cause he's for the same region of NY that I'm from but how many talons the bird has may be an indicator of the # of bottles that are accounted for.

I feel it doesn't take long to justify the cost. Especially if it's a complex or expensive part.
I run all my 5th axis parts through it and I have caught many stupid mistakes but costly mistakes if it were on the machine.
I would highly recommend going to their week long training class.
We will when the beancounters pay the maintenance contract. I really wish they would. I'm sure MR2 is alot better. They will probably wait until the beginning of the year. Right now they don't think we need the maintenance contract. They let all of the companies software maintenance run out. Not good!!!
