  1. Evening everyone. I'm taking a Solidworks 2009 class at the local college and enjoying it. They also got MasterCam X4 on the machines also. I got a solidworks file with a simple bracket with some holes in it with a design table so we can have a family of parts. I got my part and I fire up the MasterCam direct function. It opened up MasterCam and I see my part. Here's my problem, I go back to Solidworks and change the length of my part, when I go back to MasterCam, I would like to update the model to the change I just made in solidworks. How do I accomplish this or is this even possible? It seems like it would be. Thanks for ahead of time for any info. Joey
  2. Ron I have this trunnion modeled up in mastercam if you would like it. I modeled it up for we I was creating the machine for our Vericut software. Joey
  3. Is there something in the settings / configure to turn it off.
  4. I used the FBD option today. Very nice feature. It took me alittle bit to figure it out but it worked pretty good. Can't wait to use the milling feature. Is anyone using these features. Is so, any advise or anything I should look out for? Joey
  5. are you talking pan or rotate?
  6. Steve Thanks I'll keep that in mind if it happens again. Joey
  7. Thanks John, I did learn something today. Joey
  8. Now it's working. Can't figure it out.
  9. Ok, with my recent trouble with my Cimco editor I had to change my editor to the Mastercam editor. I really like using Cimco. The Mastercam editor is going some getting use to but everything does. It looks like it's going to be pretty good. Here's my question to everyong. Which is better and what are you using? Joey
  10. Ken Thanks. I called and got Glenn Sharp's partner, his name escapes me right now. He couldn't figure it out over the phone but he said he was going to call a friend of his and ask his advice. I haven't heard back but I'm patient. I changed my editor to the Mastercam editor for now. Thanks again. Joey
  11. John yes, I am running off a nethasp. I tried your suggestion but it did not work. I'm open for any other suggestions. Joey
  12. Morning everyone I got a problem and I don't know what is causing it. I like to use the Cimco editor and usually never have a problem with it but I'm having trouble getting it to open the last two days. When I go to post out a toolpath, I get the dreaded "mastercam hasp not found" error. If and when I get this error it is usually before I even open mastercam but this time it's opening fine. I contacted our IT people but I need this fixed now and not at their earliest convinence. Can anyone offer any insight? Thanks Joey PS: running X3 with the update.
  13. Pete Sorry it took so long. I ahven't logged on in a few days. Yeah, I'll send you the files tomorrow. Joey
  14. I haven't tried it as a dwg yet. I was thinking about having IT reinstalling it. Does anyone think that might help?
  15. Oh my 64dodge. they have no idea what they are missing out on.
  16. We still got a couple hold outs but that will fixed soon enough when they install X3 for everyone.
  17. the problem isn't opening it and viewing it in mastercam, I can see it there. I get nothing when I open it in autocad. When I take it out and view it on the machine, I only get the lines no arcs. It's weird. Any suggestions? Joey
  18. no autocad. I brought in into X3 to view it and tried to DXF out so they could run it on the millpower. I could have used autocad but I don't like to. I prefer to use Mastercam instead of Autocad just because I like mastercam so much better than autocad
  19. No it's just plain old 2-d geometry
  20. Sorry wrong section. I reposted in the Mastercam forum.
  21. Hey all They just put X3 with the new service pack on my machine and I'm giving it a test run. One of the first things I did was try to "save as" a dxf. Well, it's not working. I select my geometry. then I select "save as" pick DXF version 14 and ok. When I go to make sure it worked correctly, nothing is there. Is it me or is it a bug? Hope someone can help because this is something we use all the time. Thanks ahead of time. Joey

  23. Usually when I get a "no matching op file " it means that a solid is missing some geometry used to create it (through deletion or moving the solid around).
