I am thread milling a part that will get .0025 thickness of plating on it. In the past I have adjusted the pitch diameter by two times the plating thickeness. A coworker has suggested only 1x the thickness. I can't find a definitive answer. What do you guys do?
Thanks for the reply's
There must be a place to set it and not have to adjust it in every operation? Brett are you referring to the same thing John said? It is the same as when you move around your part in five axis, you do not get new wcs at every move?
When I rotate to A90 it is giving me a G55. I thought I new where to turn that off but I cannot find it. I program with the z 0.0 at the center of rotation I do not want a new wcs. I have got to be overlooking something???????
Machtek,
I have recently called my Cimco reseller inquiring about data collection. He informed me it is not out yet, but will be available shortly. I am not sure I want to be the first guy on the block with the Cimco version. Although I am only interested in true cycle time. That does not seem like a difficult thing to acuire if it is output via macro.
I am considering the same thing. I have not found much info here in the forum. Makes me suspicious when these guys are not familiar with it. My impresion is that the MDC is only providing graphs and tables. Desktop can collect all the info for you. Your machinery must have Macro b. If it does not it is not cheap to upgrade.
Bump!
Any new news on old Gene? We didn't here much about it on the east coast. We were poised to buy two new MDC 500's and now my boss is not sure he wants to buy from Haas. They are concerned we would buy a product from a company that might go out of business.
