  1. Dave . . . let me know when. James . . . I'll give this a try and report back to you. Thanks Code_Breaker
  2. Dave, Where is the HTML.set for custom 7? I am trying to get away from cut & paste. Code_Breaker
  3. Does anyone know how to get a screen shot into HTML.set files when generating a setup page? I would like to add the part to the setup page. Presently, I turn the background to white and copy to the clipboard, then paste into the doc. If this can be done by a simple command, it would be sooooo helpful. The picture that you get from File==>Hard copy would be the best. Also, I want to add the company logo as well. I would like to add this to the custom HTML.set I got from this site. Once I am done modifing it, I will send a copy to the posting department. Code_Breaker
  4. Hats off to everyone . . . setting question 1502 did the job. Iskander . . . when do you think people will stop asking you that question? "Never!!" says you. Code_Breaker
  5. I have a problem, well, not really a problem, but an annoyance. When I post an nci files, it automatically posts an ops as well. At my last place of employment, this did not happen. How do you make it stop posting these files? Code_Breaker
  6. Rookie1 Based on my review, I have a few suggestions: [*]ops 15-16 & 22-25, your tolerance setting is .002 and step is .0003 and .0001 respectively. Your tolerance setting is defeating your purpose of a mirror-like finish. I suggest you use the same settings as ops 17-21 of .0005. [*]Also, you are running all these tools at 2500 RPM, making your SFM between 10 an 20 for a 2 fluted tool. Your SFM for 440C stainless is 700. What RPM does your "speeder" increases it to? Outside of these coments, I think with the proper tool selection (as stated in this thread by several persons), you will have a great part. (Remember, this is just my view point. I reserve the rights not to be ) HTH Code_Breaker
  7. The Yasda model YBM640V is 600mm x 400mm x350mm. Spindle goes to 20,000 rpm, but anything onver 15,000 requires 20 minutes of warmup. The max feed is 400 IPM and, I believe, max rapid is 600 IPM. HTH Code_Breaker
  8. James, Where do you get the file HTML.set? I've searched my computer, but no luck. I would like to sett it's contents and formulas. Code_Breaker
  9. "I feel your 'flame'" Millman. Code_Breaker
  10. Rookie 1, Send me the file via e-mail and I will take a look and give input. We do all our hard milling on the Yasda -- holding .0002 tolerance -- using OSG TiAlN coated tooling. I also us 10% DOC for 30-40 HRc, 5% for 40-50 HRc and 4% for 50-60 HRc. Chip load varies with size and type of cutter. All the above, and more, plays in speeds and feeds. HTH Code_Breaker
  11. DavidB, I had the same exact problem . . . this is how I solved it: On your parameter page, change entry/exit arc clearance to a smaller number. If this is too large, the G41 is ignored. By the way, I suggested a better method in thread milling than using the MC thread mill tool. Search the forum using my name. The method I gave allows for multiple passes as well as compensation. An example in on the cadcam FTP site. Let me know your thoughts. Code_Breaker
  12. I think SW is a better CAD package and MC is the better CAM package. Presently, MC is working on an export module that will bring in someof the feature tree from SW. It would be nice if the feature tree in MC solid manager would do the same. Does anyone know if MC is going in this direction? I hope so. Code_Breaker

  14. I havn't used a mouse pad in 3-4 years. I have a logitech cordless optical mouse. It just sits on my desk, print, notebook, wherever there is an open spot. I also use a 3D connexion space ball. As soon as I can convince my bosses that I need a dual monitor setup, I'll be in heaven. Code_Breaker
  15. Camfun, Have you updated to "V9 SP2"? Your logo says "V9 SP1". Code_Breaker

  22. Kevin, quote: copy the operation down, less stock to leave and so on until the finish pass. Quick, down, and dirty.... Not so quick. I've used thread mill and did just what you have described, but copy and change operations depths took too long. I needed a faster method, hence, the method that I described in this post. 23. Thanks Toolfab, let me know if you find something I need to tweak. Always looking to impove my work. Code_Breaker
