Steve, one of the reasons i still use X2MR2SP1
the new post debug tool looks great but i had trouble with it from the start. So i use X2 to debug and then read into X3 and update.
Ron, i have not recieved the email yet but i got the concept after thinking things thru. Soemtimes it takes the ol brainbag an hour or two to kick in.
thanks,phil
Guys,
Has Mastercam addressed the request for solid face color changes in X3 i know this was talked about in the past and it sure would be nice to be able to change just a face color instead of the whole model.
right now i am making a surface changing levels for it and then coloring it to make is stand out.
but that is just a cheap workaround.
i place my vises, jigs and parts on different levels so i can display just the level
i want to work with. try setting the top surface of the model as a construction plane then set your 2D/3D button to 2D.
HTH phil
is B0 on the front plane in Mastercam if so tranform, toolpath, rotate, set toolpane option,
rotate point = origin if center of tombstone at origin, 1 step, 180 degrees, rotation view = top.
if that doesn't work just keep selecting views till the rotation comes out right.
i am using the transform function in X2MR2SP1
to transform a drill cycle. i have toolplane only checked to output new offset positions. it is working but i get all the ops on one offset before it moves to the next which means many tool changes. how do i get the tool to cut all three offset positions before it changes tools
In-House guys,
i am getting an error that states
"access to registry key denied" when i try top load my HTML set-up sheet. i am using X2MR2SP1.
but i also have X3 loaded as well. all files went into X2.
help please!
i have a tolerance on a shaft that specifies a GD&T . the tolerance is .01 true pos. A-B at LMC. if we consider the part on size (dial out the bonus) my tolerance for the true pos is still .01 across the zone not .01 per side( radius). i read the true pos as a zone from centerline not a radial condition from centerline.
i am correct?
He could run the surfaces to solids utility in Mastercam but i would suggest first that he delete all surfaces that are not necessary for the toolpath. Also have him run c-hooks like ram saver, rmnodes, findoverlap as these help reduce file size and should help his laptop handle the files easier. Have him save the file to another name after running this stuff so he doesn't lose the original file if he needs to backtrack. If he has a crappy video chip then he's basic hosed when it comes to working with surfaces or solids especially if he wants to work in shaded mode.

Guys, i am working on a post for an okuma OSP 5000 lathe controller and the cutter comp cancels with either a K value or an I value instead of a linear move.
i.e. G40 K-.0004 for canceling G42 or G40
I-.0004 for canceling a G41. Is this normal for okuma and if so can somebody here lead me down the right road as far as a post edit goes.i was thinking of using a booleen staement in Psccomp to control this but i'm not too sure if this is right.
thanks for the help, phil
Has anybody tried the new debug tool for posts edits loaded in X3, got it going this morning with a little help from my reseller ( thanks Prism) but it looks like it only outputs the first post block call and not the "subcalls" for other postblocks contained in the first one.
i.e. ptlchg but not ptlchg pcomment pncoutput etc.
i only have X3 on my system now as that's what was delivered to me. but it think it might be a good idea to load the latest X2.
any thoughts?
