  1. Ok thanks for the replys so far, does anyone know if the reverse post works in X, or does that post only work in V9. Thanks
  2. I just downloaded the trial of Cimco edit 5 and really like the way it looks. I was wondering if it is possible to open up a code file, and backplot it saving the backplot to an iges or dxf. Have a great afternoon guys and gals
  3. Hey Heavy I would love to see those spreadsheets if you dont mind sharing. Thanks
  4. If anyone has a template similiar to Bruce's I would love a copy. It would give me a good place to start because I am not very gifted in excel. Thanks much to all who worked on this, I think it is great
  5. Good luck dude, sounds like it was a crappy place to work anyway.
  6. you werent lying, I tried out the mpmaster and it was good right after I changed the line you mentioned earlier. I am not sure why, but the people I am working with seem to stay away from the mpmaster types of posts, I don't know why. Thanks alot for all your help. Dave
  7. Yes it does, but it only seems to throw out a lot more M10 codes. I need it to put out an M11 before the A axis move, and then an M10 to lock it back up after the A move. I will try to play around with it a little more. Thanks for your help
  8. Yes that line and many others that look like it, there seems to be quite a bit of logic in there but I am still not quite getting this right.
  9. I have a post that is pretty much dialed to what I need but I have one problem. I need to use a 4rth axis and all of my operations are on the same work offset regardless of view, I am not getting the lock and unlock codes for the 4rth axis before it has to move. If I allow mastercam to put all my different views on different work offsets all is good with the world. I hope you guys have run across this in the past, thanks for any help
  10. I was going to look for that csv file, anyone know if the ftp is down?
  11. okey doke, if it happens again, will forward the info. Thanks
  12. Happened to me once the other day too, I could not select anything, escape did nothing, and could not close the program. Had to give it the 3 fingered salute.
  13. Thanks everyone for your suggestions. We have tried small classes with the guys before, but its difficult to keep it an ongoing thing because of the different shifts. I am with you chris about tying it to some kind of bonus, maybe a giftcard for every class passed with a B or better. Thanks again for all your help
  14. The guys that we have out on the shop floor do not program anything, they only make small edits at the control. I need get these guys more basic type of training, like shop math level stuff. Quite a few of them have never worked in a machine shop of any type before, so It is really difficult to get them all up to the same level. I have had our tooling suppliers come in and give lessons on tool wear, and that worked ok. Thanks for the suggestions
  15. We have about 20 CNC operators that have vary widely in their skill levels. We run 24/7 so its difficult to get them all in the same place for training. I have been kicking around the idea of having them take some classes that Tooling university offers. I was hoping that maybe some of you guys had used them in the past and had some feedback on your experience with them. Thanks
  16. Ok, thanks Rich, I will play with that and see if It helps out. Have a good weekend
  17. Only been playing with X for the last few days and I've had the backplot crash 3 times so far. Also noticing some strange graphics issues, like the Alt-t sometimes does not work at all, and when it does it will sometimes just toggle on and off one operation while all the other toolpaths stay frozen on the screen. P4, win xp pro, Geforce FX 5200
  18. I was refering to versiion X. What I would like to have happen is for left cutter comp to be the default. What I mean by that is if I chain something in the wrong direction and then reverse it, I would still like to climb cut, meaning that I would like the toolpath to flip between the inside and outside of a boundry while always staying on left comp. I hope that makes it a little clearer.
  19. Change sides does not apear to be there in V X. Anyone else have this problem, or do you all take a lot more care in chaining things in the correct direction the first time. I tend to rush through, and go back if I messed up 1 out of 80 counterbores.
  20. I have always hated having Mastercam reverse my cutter comp direction when I need to reverse a chain. Many times I get ahead of myself and chain something in the wrong direction. Is there a way to toggle weather or not Mastercam automaticly reverse my cutter comp direction when a chain gets reversed?
  21. Speaking of Vista, anyone have an Idea when it will be out? I am looking to get a new computer but would rather not have to upgrade soon after. Thanks
  22. Happens to me too all the time, It is frustrating as hell, but I have found no patern to it, so have no idea how to adress it. I just put up with it, if you find a fix, please let me know.
  23. I have no idea how to use mastercam to machine stl files as I have not had to do it yet. But I do know of a state of the art mold shop that uses nothing but stl files to machine their molds, problem is they use delcam. I do know for sure that it can be done with good and very accurate results. They have no choice but to use stl's but if you do have a choice I would go another way. If you need more info on how they do, I can ask them for ya. HTH
  24. Hey Bullines, do you know if they are testing the radeon cards with X, the way you said "likely" kinda gave me shivers. I don't mind the g-force cards, but they don't seem to keep up wtih ATI. Thanks
