  1. At the top of the post make sure you set the g18 switch to a 1 from a 0 (zero) Hurco will have a big crash if you dont. Its just a matter of time, and when you filter a toolpath! The filter will kick out g17 to g19 if needed. A g18 is backwards in a hurco (at least for most of us) Finecut
  2. Talk to :http://www.shopfloorautomations.com/ they can help Finecut
  3. The time trial on the Haas is available from ver 11 software on. Now here is the problem, If it is turned on it is based on the "ON Time" of the machine. It is not based on spindle time ! So if there is no "T" after a option, its gone. This trial is also for rigid tap, spindle orentation, scaling/ rotation. Finecut
  4. Ok OK my mistake. hit emergancy stop go to settings #7 (parameter lock) turn it off go to the parameters page find "high Speed" It says 0t its set for trial highlite the 0t press 1 then enter now it will say "1T" go back to the parameters page turn on the parameter lock release the emg stop then reset Run your heart out when done go back and turn it off Man I need a beer finecut
  5. CMR, The option is only good on 2000 + machines. 98's and above need a processor board change. Thats not a bad price either Think about it. At $4000 it really smoothes out a surface toolpath, along with the time savings. a 1hr 15 min surface toolpath went down to 46 min You do the math. compute that kind of percentage over a month for what you run. Your payback is real fast. Iam not trying to sell the option, but we all talk about losing jobs to other country's let alone other shops. Do the cost savings. We cant keep jobs in this country if we do things with 80's, 90's ect mentality. we all got to work harder, faster and better. This is just another tool. Everybody , have a great weekend, and on Monday lets all kick a**. Finecut
  6. Rekd, If your machines are 2000 or better( 98 or better can be upgraded), and yo want to see the high speed in action it is available for 100 hours to play with. after that its $3995 to turn it on permenataly. Its on the parameters page.It says "high feed". highlite the "0", hit rt arrow, it will say 1T. hit enter. use it for a couple of pgms and see if it helps Just turn it on at the begining of a pgm and off at the end. You will be impressed. Use high feed loops where possible in your pgms Remember, its good for 100 hours only If you buy the option the "1t" will say "1" Finecut Ps I tried this on a toolroom mill from Haas. what was a 25 ipm pgm and started to shake the machine went to 85 ipm. I was stoked. Get a Tree or bridgeport to do that!
  7. Redk, The high speed option in the Haas should take care of the speed up and slowing down. Its good to 300 ipm. You will not see a feedrate change on the screen. It just does it. I was wondering is you had this option or not and if you are are still running the high speed optimize in MC. Any differances ? finecut ... out in left field
  8. Bertau, Welcome to the midwest. And yes Chicigo does have a lot of good food. Dick's Last resort is great for bbq ribs, chicken, and insults. (your wife might not like it) West end of Navy pier. As far as Calif goes, It has the best govener money can buy. Period ! ( I left Calif 4 yrs ago) Finecut
  9. Dan, What is setting 33 at in your Haas ? This Is your current Coordinate system. ITs on your first page Also setting 29 It should be off. This is g91 non modal switch For those of you who dont know, setting 33 can be Fanuc, Haas, or Yasnac In funac mode g52 will not work. Why? I dont know. I would like to know if it is the machine is it software of a setting, of which there is 144. Also what year of the machine, and ver of software. If this is a software bug, Haas can fix it. This problem came up at at our dealer on a vf-3. We were testing a machine with a program I wrote. it was using ver 8 Haas post. No changes to the post When it saw a G91 G28 Z0 command it went for the table. Lucky us we caught it. I will talk to my dealer when i get a reply here. Finecut

James, Its kind of like 304 S.S.. It will get hard right before your eyes if you use dull tools. Its very stable, but can warp on you so plan on cutting opposite sides to even out the stress. In heat treating it will stay pretty flat compared to most tool steals. long blocks need about .01 to .015 per side to finish grind. Short blocks need less. Speeds and feeds are about 50% of 1018 for starting. Dont let the tools get dull. It will put heat into the part very quickly, and turn them to 50 RC or better. Not fun ! New style cutters will work better. I would use coolant if the cutter permits it. I have not used the newer desgins of inserts. hope somebody else could chime in on that Finecut
  11. Who needs to read the cartoon section when you have this forum ? lol Finecut
  12. And in Haas its make sure parmeter 36 is on. Go into edit and highlite the place you want to start, hit the memory button, hit start. piece of cake! Finecut
  13. Just for s**ts and giggles take a look at Haas. They now has one. Ive never seen one(any router), Iam just passing on what i saw. Finecut
  14. A VTL would be perfect for this Jack is right, it sound like the best way to go This is a learning experince, stay focused. You can do it A dial bore gage is needed. You have to find the sweet spot, RPM, Feed, depth of cut for the best finish Finecut
  15. Here is another concern Coolant.......... No clorinated coolants. That goes for the water also. Chlorine is used in most water supplies to kill the bactiera. This is a good rule to follow for all Ti. The chlorine will react with the Titanium. You wont see it. But if your parts are ever heated or have special post process done they will fail Ask who you are doing the job for about this. They should tell you about this condition. Ive worked for Hughes Aircraft for some time.Thats when I Learned about this, and had to change out the coolant. As far as feeds and speeds the previous post are correct. Always take a cut !!! No rubbing allowed with the tools. Min .01 for finish cut treat it like 304. And this stuff is not cheap but sure is neat Finecut
  16. In the Haas Post at the bottom, Question 164 Change the "y" to "n". That will turn off the "A" output. Finecut
  17. It sounds like a delta 20 control. i forgot when the 40 series came out. The control is very tough, but what options are in the control ? Memory amount? buffered input, for dnc ? floppy? Hard drive? This is a dos based control. Remember how that works? It can get a little nuts if all you know is windows, but it's not hard to learn. There is no subs in the gcode side. Instead its a repeat of a range of line numbers. Kind of like a G97 call. You can do 3d work with this control (with mastercam) so this is really where the memory or buffered input come in. Iam not putting the machine down, just making you think past the price tag that says BUY ME ! If you go through with this Email me. I will give you a name of a repair tech that knows delta controls in his sleep. He's about 40 miles south of you. ( I used to live in L.A.) Find out where you can get parts for the machine and who can do the set up Finecut PS Tree dropped the delta (autocon now) control for the seimens 2100 Dynapath was just sold by hurco. Its now a private employee owned company.
  18. Just for thought: 1 What control is on the machine? 2 Where does the service come from and how hard is it to get parts? A deal is no deal if you have to wait 2 months for parts Tree machines are owned by Excel, Taiwain. I think thier main plant is in Wisconsin. do your reasearch !!!!!! my 2 cents finecut
  19. It's a cancel cutter tool length. (G49) Its the same as putting a H0 Iam looking for the file now. I belive the problem was that code was in the wrong spot when it came up. The tool was just above the part Second the tools I belive were set (TLO) to a table probe. I was not there when the job was being set up but I was told the z axis was going for the table in rapid !!! Just put a "#" in front of the line in the toolchange preretract as here: #pbld, n, sgabsinc, "G49", pfzout, e When I find the file (6 megs worth)I see what it did. Finecut
  20. Tombstones come in different sizes, and are a extra cost above and beyond the machine cost. You need to figure the travels you want or are looking at. Then look at the pallet size for that machine. Next you size the tombstone to fit the machine and your app. You can go with 1 pallet or for what you may want is at least 2 pallets, one can be running and the other can would be at a load/ unload station. A haas vf-3 starts at 60,000. a horz is about starts at about 130,000+ Just compare what you can do with each one, size is a big factor on a horz. But if you got the work it will pay for itself. 21. When i first posted out a file with the Hass post, just as it came on the cd I had My Haas dealer running a test job . The dealer in proofing the pgm on a VF-3 (Brand New) saw a G49 come up. Had he not been watching, it would have crashed the machine ( in Rapid ) This move is in the post in the toolchange section. Its not needed, and can crash depending how you set your length offsets. I took it out with a "#" in front of the line. Also if you use a rotary on the machine you might as well make 2 posts. One with the "A" callout and one without. The Haas does not like seeing a rotary callout if its not on the machine and pluged in. This will save you the edit time. Just my 2 cents Finecut
  22. Yep, Its the best one I have seen. It gives Regular feeds and speeds and high feed speeds and feeds along with depth of cut with the above. There are a lot of other goodies in the updated package as well. (trig formuals, G- codes, ect)It doesnt cost much. The download is about 8 meg. Finecut
  23. I got a picture of a covict in uniform. Will that work ?? HA HA Finecut
