When driving in snow, for every mile of road, ther are 2 miles of ditches!!
Ok , here's is a work around.
As you know , canned cycles wont do this without a lot of help.
So you can use manual entry and a text file.
For boring try something like this:
S300 MO3
G0 Z0
G1 Z-1 F2.0
GO Z-2.0
G1 Z-3.0
.
.
G1 X-.01(LIKE A SHIFT BORE)
G0 Z.1
X0.
.
.
Got the idea ?
Now save it as a text file and use manual entry to input the code into your program.
Your post has to be set up in the comment field so the code will come out as code and not a comment.
Manual entry has 2 outputs. Code or comments. 1005, or 1006. You have to check the box that the post is set up for. some posts are not set up right. Here is my comment field:
pcomment # Manual Entry - COMMENTS (on a block by itself) 1005,1006
if gcode=1005, pcomment1 # Manual Entry Comment - 1005 - Codes
if gcode=1006, pcomment2 # Manual Entry Comment - 1006 - Comments
if gcode=1007, pcomment3 # Define comment with output line
if gcode=1008, pcomment2 # Define NC parameter comment - Operation comments
pcomment1 # Manual Entry - Codes - Without brackets
scomm = ucase (scomm)
n, scomm
pcomment2 # Manual Entry - Comments - With brackets and sequence number
scomm = ucase (scomm)
n, "(", scomm, ")"
pcomment3 # Manual Entry - Comments - With brackets and without sequence number
scomm = ucase (scomm)
"(", scomm, ")"
ptoolcomment #Comment for tool
tnote = t
toffnote = tloffno
tlngnote = tlngno
"(", pstrtool, *tnote, *toffnote, *tlngnote, *tldia, ")", e
pstrtool #Comment for tool
if strtool <> sblank,
[
strtool = ucase(strtool)
*strtool, " "
]
Use a g81 drill cycle at your center point and move the manual entry info into the g81 routine, and make sure you delete the g81 and the g80 code.

It could be low memory.
Check your memory settings. It sounds like your too low. Up your toolpath and datapath settings.
Its in your screen, config, allocations.

Look here :
# Formulas - Use ':' instead of '=' to initialize variables
.
.
.
swg18 : 0 # Switch for G18 plane - 0=normal sgcode, 1=call sgcode2 for Boss's G18
You will crash the machine if you dont change this!!!
Test it before and after and notice the g2, g3 output. A little are will turn into a BIG ARC

What Level of NC add on in the control?
There are 3 levels
Basic-- which comes with the machine
HNC -- Adds most of the bells
???? -- I fogot the name but this brings it up to a fanuc standard.
G17, 18, 19 are active.
In G18 mode make sure the post reverses the g2 and g3 moves. There is a switch at the top of the post that changes this.
The machine will do x,y,z moves, and the post will switch planes as needed.
You will notice a lot of stoping and starting if the processor in the machine is a 486.
As to just x,y,z moves only. never tried it
And "x" is not out yet...................

Year of machine?
What did the motor do before going down?
Sounds like a power supply problem, but...
bearing to tight? lack of oil? any unusual sounds?
ck the drive control. If the drive is out of phase to the other drives. 3d work will show this, but not always.
The Haas service should be checking for all of this.
3 motors in a year is nuts!!!!

MF.
Thats easy,
The g40 cancels the d offset call, and clears it from the machine memory.
The "D" is always called with a cutter comp call so the machine knows what offset to use. You can use different "D" numbers for the same tool number.
In a Haas you have to set a parameter to do this, but it works there also,

Trevor,
Its a 17 in with a nivida go 5600,5200, or 440

You guys are lucky. I have to put in G10's on most of our outputs. Fadal, okuma, ect
Just one I wont. Our new Kitumara with all the bells including probing, pallet changer,4th ...
and a 16I control. this one is fun to pgm

I fixed the haas post for comments by opening the mpmaster and a haas post side by side in the cimco editor. Look at the comment lines in both then edit in the comment lines from the mpmaster to the haas post. Then I commented out the old lines in the haas post with a "#"
It worked great

I got a job as a manufacturing engineer in WI, about 1 hr north of St Paul.
So much for NAFTA. China never has played by the rules. We are the dumping ground. If you have to ask where all the money goes look what china just put up in space. WE Paid for that. Along with other things. It sure isn't going to the workers.
A lot of people are out of work and/or taking less in the paycheck at a lesser job.
Next election is the time to find the right people to put in office. If thats possible !

I was let go a month and a half ago. Major management changes and third new owner. But the good news is I found a new job, far better then before. Iam moving this thursday and start the 24th. Its very rough out there. I sold a lot of stuff to stay afloat and unload the debt.
See you all on the other side.

Try this
Draw a line , say 2.0 in long
In toolpath pick countour,chain, partial
pick one end, click wait, pick opposite end, done
pick a tool for the slot size
set the depth
pick ramp, depth amount
offset - almost half the dia in xy (minus amount)
do a 3d view and watch the path
now play with the settings
