  1. Well amiazingly the hasp was found yesterday in one of the company toolboxes that our inspector uses. I know that our inspector had nothing to do with it, someone jusy wanted to place it where it would be found. I would like thank all of you that gave me information on what to do with the situation and how to deal with things so it wouldnt happen again. Have good Turkey Day folks! Chad
  2. Music Match Jukebox now has it where you can download threw there player. Theres is also .99 for songs. Going threw there data base of artist is really easy.
  3. I think that would be interesting if Ted Nugent went into office, he would xxxx off alot of people but i think he would get things back on track especially the new BMV rules/taxes they are trying to put on people.
  4. Greg your help is much appreciated! I take it that you use the MPSUBREP.PST becuase i am seeing what you are saying now. I imagine that you have to edit that post to produce your desired format? Thanks again............Chad
  5. I think i understand what you are saying. I downloaded it into my mcam folder. We run Haas's also. So what do you actually type into the misc values? And was any particular post you use? I use a haas post that reseller set up for a years ago. The only problem i have with using transform is that if you have 3 operations that use the same tool it will jump to G54 to G55 and back again following the opperations instead of completing all oppps on that offset. Does your way prevent this. Sorry for all the questions I am sort of really in the dark on this. Out of the six that program/run the machines i am the only one who will try to multiples. Most of the time we are 1 or 2 piece orders but when longer running jobs come in it nice to be able to post this way. Thanks
  6. When i want to post for multiple offsets i use the transform function when i am done with all the programming to get G54, G55, G56, ect, ect, Browsing threw this site i found this http://www.emastercam.com/posts/mpsubrep/mpsubrep.html What would be the advantage of using the misc. values in every opperation verse what i am doing now with the transform? Is it because the ability to post subs? [ 11-19-2003, 09:04 AM: Message edited by: chad fisher ]
  7. Nice history lesson Dave. You stated that participation level is only at 10%. I know at our facility we have 11 seats here and i am the only one that really posts. I wonder how many other places have multiple seats that might have only person who posts from that facility. Our reseller even encourages participation on this site. Thanks guys, it is a great site!
  8. This ought to be neat, a little eduacation never hurts niether. Its nice to see that some here can act like adults and handle a debate in respectful fashion. A little fire is good, but the all out flame wars stink.
  9. We work here in enviroment that is really relaxed and for most part very trusting. Most of us have never locked our tool boxes up. In some places i would worry but not here..................till now. What we are going to do is buy a hasp for every station "6" and there is seven of us that use them, so we are going to assign a hasp to these people, "someone will share" and its your xxxx to protect it and no more hanging off the back. Thanks for the concern guys! p.s. calm down hardmill
  10. In all honesty, I like it better this way. Whatever is easiest.
  11. Well, today is monday and still no hasp. Our security had done checked to see if anyone had accessed this building and it checked out to be the people who should of been here. Now there checking the video tape to see who had came in and out of my room. We have a good idea who did it but no way to prove as of yet. I would love to drill him but human resources and legal department would be all over me if i did. Ill keep you all updated if anything comes up
  12. I personally asked everyone this morning and there reply was, no they didnt have it and i told my supervisor and he passed a momo out about it. So i will wait and see what happens monday morning. We are one shift only here and we have various start times. Some choose to come in 6 and i choose to come in at 7:30 so Ill see what happens. Thanks for the reply's guys! Chad
  13. We have our own security we must go threw 1st and there looking into now.
  14. Gcode, I know now what you mean by the net hasp. We are a large facility w/ over 3000 here, but the 18 machinist here are in our own buiding, and of the 18 there is only 6 of us that use mcam. I have got an idea, but it is only an asumption. Here is the deal I have two keys in my office lathe/wire and a mill key. I have been on the mill key all week plus i was the last one to leave yesterday and i closed mill down when i left. This morning i came in and knew i needed the wire key, well..... went to pull the mill key out and seen the wire was already plugged in. So an hour later i needed the mill again, there is 1 guy who will come and swipe the mill key and use it on his station, so went to check and it wasnt there. Then decided to do inventory on all the keys, then started asking everyone. No one has fessed up yet so we will see monday.
  15. I am just curious here, I think we might of had one of our mill keys stollen, or atleast someone here of the 6 mill guys took it home and isnt fessing up about it. Anyway is there anything you can do about it, or is pretty much a lost deal. sim# removed thanks, Chad [ 11-07-2003, 03:20 PM: Message edited by: chad fisher ]
  16. Somthing a little different here but think of this. Every year more people are introduced to the workforce than there is retiring, and everyone "almost" is getting raises of somesort. So when you get a raise Uncle Sam gets a raise and same thing for overtime, he to gets a little O.T. for no work at all. So why in the hell are they constantly saying we need more or we can not balance the budget. My idea would be to give them 15% base and say, here..........make do with what you got!
  17. I forgot to add that music match had some conversion that isnt mp3 that is smaller than mp3. Check the site out www.musicmatch.com
  18. T@T@LO suggested music match and i second that heavily! I have a library of about 30 gig and i use this program to manage the whole thing, you can download it for free and use a basic package but i reccomend buying the software. I think it was like 50 bucks and free lifetime upgrades and i have got my money out and then some. There is alot features there to use if you time to play with it. Burning and doing labels is snap
  19. Out of curiousity why cant we just add a note under the f.a.q reading "post processor guidlines"
  20. I wonder if our founding fathers are rolling in there graves at what our country has become? 2nd What in the hell ever happened to common sense "in reference to 1st and 5th post"
  21. Our shop runs all Haas's now and we are really happy with the money spent on them and there service is great compared to others i have seen in the past. Plus i feel comfortable that parts will be available cheaply ten years from now for them. If you can talk to the boss into an option go for the side mount tool changer!
  22. This might sound a little different but in our shop we teach all our mill operators to run this way. 1st touch all tools from a 6" block from machine table. 2nd calculate vice/parralle/part thickness and subtract value from 6". 3rd enter that # into fix offsets. Most of our work is in 8" or 6" vices so 3.5 and 3.188 is a standard for all vices in our shop. We do most all programming for Z0. being top of part. Plus if operators switch machines they will know where the tlo's are if using some tools for differnet parts.
  23. Hats off Roger! That did the trick
  24. In 9.1 with our haas post can i force the post to call out diameter offset? The reason i ask is becuase one of our other operators had written a program that jumped around on tools i.e op1 used a 1/4 e/m, op2 used a 3/4 e/m then went back to the 1/4 in the program but it left out the diameter callout. Thanks in advance for any help!
