  1. Got my new mouse pad last week.
  2. Creat dynamic curve. But this is not precise, I wish it was. With this you select point on a surface (dynamic points not actuall points). I usually use constant parameter curve, you select a dynamic point and it makes a curve in either of 2 directions.
  3. On the creat curve slice you have to set your slice plane. Second botton from the far left.
  4. ------------------------------------------------- You must have done File/SaveAs (and not FileSaveSome) because SaveSome does not write IGES files. ------------------------------------------------- Not so. Might not be intended but if you go to file save some/ change file type to all files/ then add the IGS to the end of the file name it saves as IGS. In MCX MR1 and MR2 it would only save what was turned on in the levels manager. In X2 it saves everything, but blanks the turned off levels. Since you say it is not intended to save IGS this is probably the problem, but it did work this way in MR1 and MR2.
  5. I did a save some with 1 level active. 2 surfaces on this level and some curve geometry. I have multiple parts and components on other levels (all turned off). So should be a 2 surface IGS file. 88Megs. is what I ended up with. I read this file into UG NX4 turn on all levels and only see the 2 surfaces and curves. Do an unblank and everything on all of my levels is there. Note the blanked base surfaces in my MCX file did not come thru only the parts from the other levels. Question: Is this the way it is supposed to work? It did not do this in older versions, at least I don't think it did.
  6. The only problem I have with printing is that it defaults to gray scale. I have to go into File/print every time and change to color. Not as bad as your problem so I can't complain too much. It sounds like something is wrong with your install or it's something in your system setup.
  7. You should have read the forum rules before posting. Duck!
  8. That's what I thought. I was not sure what everyone was talking about. Thought I was missing something. I have my system set up to toolpath group name, and I never have a problem.
  9. I had a post that did this after being updated to X. Look for an output line in your post that dose not have (,e$) at the end of it. An output line will have an (n$)somewhere near the begining of it. The problem is probably in an area that looks something like this. plin$ # Linear line movement - at feedrate 1 if ccomp$ = 0, ccomp$ = prv_ccomp$ pcan pcan1, n$, sccomp, sgcode, sabsinc, x$, y$, z$, pfr, strcantext, e$ pcan2 !xi, !yi, !zi It will not be so messed up in the post.
  10. I use mainly surfaces. I remove all wireframe geometry (curves, splines, arcs) before I start and creat what I need as I go along.
  11. After fiddeling with it for awhile I now get moldserver down.
  12. Todd I get this warning. Incompatible C-Hook internal version number. Recompile and relink the C-Hook: (My directory)
  13. Dose it work for anyone else? Is there an update yet?
  14. Don't care for the all files default, but would like to have the paths directed to assigned files for different file types. Like MR2, if it worked once it can't be too hard to make it work again.
  15. We run 1" ball mill at 300 IMP in aluminum. Finish cut .06" depth or less. Usually 4000 RPM, Machine max is 6000 RPM
  16. Not a bug. If you are going to use the new plane for NC you have to set your origin. This can be done at the same time your making the new plane, so it should not take you any longer. If it has been a problem I would set the origin every time you make a plane wether you use it for NC or not. Pionter lower left corner of the creat plane form. Pick pointer pick origin done, it's that easy.
  17. When I creat 5 axis fixed toolplanes I pick the WCS to set that as my active origin. That is the whole point of the set new origin button. If it is unchecked the origin could be anywhere. The origin usually ends up being somewhere relative to the geometry you picked to set your plane. When creating Toolplane, first I pick my geometry, then togel to get Z correct, then I pick the litle pointer on the left of the form and pick my WCS origin, then I name my toolplane and accept. Never have a problem. PS: You would not need to do this if you where making a new construction plane hench the switch. [ 10-26-2006, 12:54 PM: Message edited by: Cuda84 ]
  18. Sorry I don't see a way to do faceing with the high speed programs. Use surface rough pocket. Start outside containment. Faceing.
  19. In the high speed toolpathe, linking paramaters, you can make any program ramp. Actually vertical arc entry.
  20. And actually 42 is the answer to everything. Life the universe and everything.
  21. 3 hands wow! It works as accept or cancle in (X MR2) and (X2)
  22. Bottom of the part for molds. The bottom never changes, so it makes for easy setup for engineering changes. Top for plates, (drill programs).
