Get gap Id in event log causes lag

Every time I move the view I get a 3 or 4 second lag with the spinning mouse icon.

The event log is filled with the get gapid in the picture. It is almost unusable. It happens in this file only.

Any idea what causes this?

Thanks

The event logger has a performance cost, too many notifications will cause choppiness, close the even logger to solve the performance issues.

It is always on the system tray. I only opened it to see if it gave me any info. It does the same thing with it closed

"closed" -> right click on the icon in the tray -> press exit

do you see that issue only in one file or in all files?

Only this file

I exited and still get the lag.

It's fine if I make geometry or use a function. If I click a plane, machine group or toolpath it spins the mouse for 3 or 4 seconds.

I'm going to save as and delete things untill I figure it out I guess

Okay, that appears to be the name of a function from the mastercam planes class, let me look at the chm file and get back to you.

Does operarion 177 use a custom plane?

long MastercamPlanes::GetGapID  ( PlaneClass  planeClass ) const

Returns first ID that does not exist in the map (i.e. 1,2,4,5... would return a 3).
Parameters
planeClass The plane class (SystemMatrix or NamedPlane).
ReturnsThe first ID that's not used in the middle of the range.

Description from Mastercam 2021 Sdk chm file

I'm not sure what's going on here, have you shown this to QC?

No, it's the first time I have seen it

I will have to do some tests to find out anything definitive,

it says it pertains to gaps in the "map" (list of planeID's?)

Are you able to view your plane ID numbers? I would check if there are gaps like in the example and fill them or reorder the planes.

It seems to be saying there Is a problem with your planeID numbers..

Here is a screen shot on file.

I save then opened in a CSV file and counted over 2000 of them in less than 5 minutes.

Is it a very large file? Lots of operations or planes?

I'll see if I can create an add-in that calls the function a single time.

that should be a useful tool to narrow down what the root cause is.

I've never heard if this before either.

Part of a 85gb project with all the files for the over 20+ programmed operations at this point under ITAR so sorry cannot share. That operation file has about 40 planes and over 450 operations right under 1gb in file size.

What does the list of planeID's say?

Plane reports are pretty standard. Nothing odd standing out in them. I have saved these over the years and can read them pretty well. This one is new for 2021 and it is a major pain from what I am seeing.

My plan started out as duplicates of the top.

Then I would copy and edit to rotate. They are very similar except they reflect material left for heat treat so the z height of the plane sometimes is .005 or .01 different than one of its duplicates.

But they're only about 10 custom planes in this particular file it's under a half a gigabyte

Can you save the operations as an ops file and import it to a new file?

I was wondering if you created all the planes locally or they are imported ops?

All created locally and no I cannot import into a new file a lot of OPS tied to Solids. I see this on every 2021 file I have made that existed from a previous version or with everything done only in 2021. I have asked QC and they were checking with the developers to get me an answer and I haven't gotten one back in almost a month as you see the time stamp on those screen shots sent it.
