Adding stock to a solid

I have a solid with an irregular shape around the base of it. Is there a way to add stock to it to create a rectangular so that the irregular shape is not cut yet?

Could you draw the shape you want and do a boolean add to add this to your existing model?

Well, there's very little that explains your problem. If you just want to avoid to cut the bottom part of your model then cut depths is available for almost all the toolpath.

BTW You can upload your file for better solutions.

create a rectangular solid that overlaps your irregular shape and then do a boolean add.

 

Later if you want your original shape back you can suppress the boolean add.

You can always use check surfaces

build additional solid or surface->primitive->box and seleft as check

+1000 to depth limits and check boundaries

There are plenty of options available in mastercam machining for each situation. And this forum is one of the greates help.

Can you use the solids thicken to add the material where you need. I have also created surfaces from detail and offset the suface to creat stock. I have also done my toolpaths and told the toolpath to leave alot more stock when doing the operations. There are alot of way. The owl has given me some tips on this look to his tips for ideas on way to help you improve your skills.

Could use bbox to find the excact square around your solid. IF that is what you are looking for..
