To answer your questions:

We support only geometry: solids, surfaces, lines (drafting later)

We will have a free download with limited options.

Also a free 30 days trial.

 

You need Adobe Acrobat to make the PDF files.

You only need Acrobat Reader v7.0 to view it.

 

May be next week we have a beta version !

WHAT CAN I DO WITH THE .U3D CONVERTER

- export 3D files to PDF

- create Solids animation (Molds/Tools simulation, open/close/eject part)

 

 

WHAT IS THE .U3D FORMAT

- U3D format (called Universal 3D),

is an open format developed by Intel/Adobe/others to be the "JPEG" for 3D graphics.

 

 

INSTALL

- UnZip on Mastercam directory with option "Use folder names" to create sub-directories.

ex: C:MCAM9,

will copy files to C:MCAM9CHOOKS and C:MCAM9PDF3D

 

 

QUICK TEST

- Run PDF3D-DEMO.DLL

- acept defaults

- Select Solids/Surfaces

- Click "Convert to PDF3D"

- View U3D file

 

 

CREATE PDF 3D

- Use Adobe Acrobat V7.0

- Tools/ Advanced editing / 3D Tool

- drag a rectangle (picture size)

- 3D Model / Select the .U3D file / OK

- Save

Download Adobe Acrobat Tryal version

VIEW MOLD ANIMATION

- Run C:MCAM9PDF3DMold-Animation.bat

 

 

U3D VIEWER HELP

- Left Mouse Clik to Rotate

- Keys:

- Ctrl = Zoom

- Shift = Rotate about axis

- Arrows = Pan

- Space = Pause animation

 

 

DEMO VERSION LIMITS

- Only converts max. 5 solids / 100 surfaces

- Large files will only show 70% of the part
