Cant start X again...

The following components are missing-

MCBitmap OCX

MC List ctl OCX

Mastercam cannot start.

Does anybody know what this is all about. and how have they all of a sudden gone missing...

Did you uninstall V9?

I beleive those files may be common to both

X and V9

Last night I removed V9 demo, that I was using to have a look at the lathe, but still have V9 installed.

Gcode. was thinking of putting X disc back in and doing a repair, would that work?

You will probably need to run a repair on X but..

 

First try searching you harddrive for the "missing" files.

If they are really gone, V9 shouldn't run either.

If they still exist, try regisitering them with the Mastercam X utility in the Control Panel.

Well have reloaded the lathe demo, and X works again.

So what the hell is going on.

MC wont let you remove any MC versions and still use X. Dont sound right to me. Anybody else found this or is it just me...

Well the thing it they all share these files from V9 to X and it controls level and few other things. So when you unistall the Demo it being written not knowing what shares what takes these out. So if you remove the Demo and run the repair with X all should be good in V9 and X.

Yes that is what should happen, but removing the demo seems to also remove a couple of other files that stops you running the repair.

I cannot start X either...Can someone shed some light..

 

 

I put a new HDD in my PC and installed X before I did 9.

 

 

The following components are missing-

But they are both where they are suppose to be

 

Did a repair on X, no good.

 

9 runs just fine..

OK I wiped the registry of all MC entries and reinstalled both 9 and X, installing 9 first.

 

What a crock This security BS suxxors....

 

OK, it all works....I feel better now...

If you find out all the files that are missing, someone could probably email them to you.

 

Or install demo, copy the necessary files to another location, uninstall demo and move the copied files back.

yea, I reinstalled the demo and it all runs so left it at that.
