Ihave to say to what a great tool once I figured it out in the release of 9.0 I have contuned to use it just about every part that comes across my desk.

I agree. Before it came out in V9 I used a chook called BWCS by Brian314. It made it much easier in V8 to program multiple sides of a part. I have used WCS ever since it came out and use it on almost every single part (except for some real simple things). Very rarely does a part actual 3D model actually come it at x0,y0,z0, and sometimes it's not even parallel to any of the planes. WCS does an excellent job of getting these parts in the proper orientation without having to move the part, which makes it much easier when importing revisions! I couldn't live without this feature now that I have used it!

I feel like I've finally moved into the 21 century

WCS is one sweet tool! Never again transform-rotate.... loosing all operations! Now verify works ! Dynamicaly rotate while verifying and watch the tools cut on each side. Thanks for the tutorial link it also helped to clear my head.

i was playing around with the work offset tutorial and it seems like the only way i can get the post to output new work offset numbers is to change the misc. integer value 1. Is this a stupid setting missed on my part somewhere?

Try going into the planes button on the tool paramters page and change the -1 to something else and see if that works

i tried to change that and it still did nothing, i tried 0,1,2,3 and no change in output

what is the post you are using?

it is a really old post setup by CNC in 92 and has never been changed the file name is MPMIT520.pst other then that i am not sure what info you need i have never really messed with posts much

I think the WCS in X is a little more fiddly. I automatically switch myself to noob mode just to make sure I haven't stuffed anything up.
