FTP site

Is there something I need to do to access the ftp site to look at files. I get a message that says I need permission.

Have you been able to access before?

The only setting usually is in IE Tools, Internet options,Advanced, Untick "Use passive FTP"

How do I do something similar in Netscape 7.2? I can't access the FTP from home.

Download Filezilla and logon using that. That's what I have to do because the IT guy here won't let me access the FTP thru IE...grrr....

ok, Filezilla version 2.2.13a is installed,what do I put in address, user, password, and port?

Address: ftp://www.ppcadcam.com

User: mastercam

Password: swiss

Port: 21

 

There should be a switch to turn off passive mode & you should be able to set the default folder to Mastercam_forum.

tried that..

heres what I get..

passive is unchecked using not sure on my port setting though. I went into tool internet opions, and checked my lan settings and gives me .... autoproxy.textron.com:8080

so should my port settings be 8080 in filezilla, really dosent matter, I tried both and still get the same results.

do I need to change anything in filezilla proxy settings? right now just says direct connect.

Im checkin to see if company has port 21 accessable also.

just talked to the IT guy and emailed him the ftp site to see if access will be allowed. Never ending problem I have had for 2 years.. my short term goal is teh get this issue resolved.
