you need to pick all the surfaces around the single surface as Check. Otherwise the tool will want to roll around the edges of the drive surface

Or you could try going into the Advanced settings and check "Only between surfaces." Typically, this will eliminate adding all the check surfaces.

also i have been using the stl file compare after verify for the first time how reliable is that?

I think it's very reliable. I can't recall a time when the program violated and it didn't show up in verify. We compare ALL 3D toolpath to an STL. We only use it for 3 axis milling, so maybe others have had a different experience with fancier stuff.

hey lacky i tried what you said and saw what you did on the file. my computer is taking forever to crunch the toolpath when i select all the surfaces. onething i did notice is that your toolpath wiped out the top left side wall for some reason. maybe something to do with surface norm. what kind of computer you runnin mc on just curious. i know one thing my grapics card is a nvidvia fx5200 which is bottom shelf thats what our tech guy put in it when he built this box to run cad and cam programs go figure

Heavy,

Something I found last night..there are 3 bad surfaces on that model.....one is the vertical wall on the top(blue) that we were using as a Check Surface. The other two are on the bottom side, fillet surfs, if I remember correctly. They're not bad enough to impact the final product, however, they will slow down your computer while proccessing toolpaths, especially when using the smaller tools and tighter tolerences. Use Analyze/Surfaces/Test Norms to find them.
